Chapter 13

Who's in your shadows?
Who's ready to play?
Are we the hunters?
Or are we the prey?
There's no surrender
And there's no escape
Are we the hunters?
Or are we the prey?

Game of Survival by Ruelle

~CAMPBELL HOUSE~

"We have to kill this thing now, or Mary dies." I say. "What? How do you know that?" Samuel asks as Dean pulls out John's journal. "We just do, okay?" Dean says. "When?" He asks. "I don't know, maybe today, probably years from now, but it's happening, trust me." Dean says. "So what are you two some kind of psychic now too?" He asks.

"No. Alright, listen to Dean." I beg. "Now, this is gonna sound a little...actually it's gonna sound massively, massively crazy." Dean says. "Okay." Samuel says. "Mary is my mother." Dean says. "Excuse me?" He asks. "And I am your grandson, and I know what the hell I'm talking about." Deans says as Samuel looks at him with disbelief.

"You wanna run that by me again, son?" He asks. "My real name is Dean Winchester. I was born January 24th, 1979. My parents are Mary and John Winchester." Dean says. "I don't have to listen to this." He says. "Mary get's killed by a yellow eyed demon in 1983, and we think that this...what happened tonight...we think this is the moment that he caught her scent. Now, if we don't catch this thing now, and kill it, and it gets away? Then Mary dies. So, we are asking you, please." I say but he shakes his head.

"How did we know about the Colt? Huh? How did we know about the Yellow Eyed Demon? Or where it would be? We are not making this up, Samuel." Dean says. "Every bone in my body is aching to put you both six feet under, but there's something about you both...I can't shake it. Now, I may be crazier than you two, but I believe you." He says. "Thank you." I say as I let out a breath of relief.

"I mean, how do we find this bastard?" Samuel asks and Dean opens the journal. "And with the Colt?" Samuel asks as Dean pulls the Colt out of his jacket and puts it on the table. "Yeah." I say. "Here, let me see it." He says but I grab it. "Sorry, we don't let anybody hold it." I say. "I'm your boyfriend's grandfather." He says. "Nothing personal." I shrug.

"Sure it is, especially when it's me you're trying to kill." He says as his eyes turn yellow. He raises his hand and the chairs that Dean and I are sitting in slams against the wall. "Future boy and girl, huh?" He chuckles as he walks over to us. "I only know one thing that's got the juice to swing something like that. You must have friends in high places. So, I kill your mommy? That's why you came all this way? To see little old me?" He smirks at Dean.

"Oh, we came here to kill you." Dean growls. "Hey, wait a minute, if that slut Mary's your Mommy, are you...are you one of my psychic kids?" He asks as he leans in and sniffs us. "No, not either of you. Maybe you got a brother, or sis. That's terrific, means it all worked out. After all, it's why I'm here." He smirks.

"So that's what this is about, these deals you're making. You don't want these people's souls." I ask. "No, I just want their children. I'm here to choose the perfect parents, like Deano's mommy." He smiles. "Why her? Why any of them?" Dean asks.

"Because they're strong." He says. "They're pure, and they eat their Wheaties. My own little master race...they're ideal breeders." He smiles. I roll my eyes. "Oh, get your minds out of the gutter. No one's breeding with me. Though, Mary? Man, I'd like to make an exception. So far she's my favorite." He winks.

Dean growls and tries to move. "So why make the deals?" I ask. "I need permission." He says as I see Deanna come quietly into the room. "I need to be invited, into their houses, I know, I know, the...the red tape'll drive you nuts, but in ten short years, it'll all be worth it. Cause you know what I'm gonna do to your sibling? I'm gonna stand over their crib and I'm gonna bleed into their mouth. Demon blood is better than Ovaltine, vitamins, minerals...it makes you big and strong." He chuckles.

"For what? So they can lead your discount demon army? Is that your big plan?" I ask. "Please, my end game's hell of a lot bigger than that kid." He smiles. "End game? What end game?" Dean asks. "Like I'm gonna tell you, or those angels sitting on your shoulder. No, I'm gonna cover my tracks good." He says.

"You can cover whatever the hell you want, but I'm still gonna kill you." Dean threatens. "Right. Now that, I'd like to see." He says. "Maybe not today, but you look into my eyes, you son of a bitch, cause I'm the one that kills you." Dean growls.

"So, you're gonna save everybody, is that right? Is that it? Well, I'm tell you one person that you're not gonna save." He says as he takes out a knife. "You're grandpappy." He winks and plunges the knife into Samuel. "No!!" Dean, Deanna and I yell as the yellow eyed demon goes for Deanna as Dean and I try to get free. He sends Deanna flying, she tries to crawl away but the yellow eyed demon breaks her neck.

We get free and I grab the colt but we are too late the yellow eyed demon is gone. "Mary..." Dean says.

~LATER~

We drive down the road and see the yellow eyed demon kissing Mary. We get out of the car. "No!" Dean yells but before he can shoot. Black smoke flows from the yellow eyed demons mouth as John comes back to life. "Mary?" John asks. "John." Mary says. A tear slips from eye as Castiel appears infront of Dean and I. He touches our shoulder.

Next thing I know is I'm waking up gasping in bed, along with Dean and Castiel is standing near the foot of the bed. "We couldn't stop any of it. She still made the deal. She still died in the nursery, didn't she..." I trail off. "Don't be too hard on yourselves. You couldn't have stopped it." He says.

"What?" Dean asks. "Destiny can't be changed. All roads lead to the same destination." He says. "Then why'd you send us back?" I ask. "For the truth. Now you both know everything we do." He says. "What the hell are you talking back." Dean glares as Castiel looks to the other bed. I look over and see that it hasn't been slept in. Sam... "Where's Sam?" I ask.

"We know what Azazel did to your brother. What we don't know is why...what his endgame is. He went to great lengths to cover that up." Castiel says. "Where's Sam?" Dean demands. "425 Waterman." Castiel says as Dean and I get up, him grabbing the keys to the Impala. "Your brother is headed down a dangerous road, Dean, and we're not sure where it leads. So, stop it
