Someone up there in the skies
Colors the rainbow and brightens the clouds;
Scatters the raindrops and bids the wind sing
As gayly and quickly as birds on the wing.
All this beauty at His command;
Gay tinted roses smile on the sun
Sampaguita, ilang-ilang and champaca buds
Life ballerinas dance at the monsoon's nudge.
Who carpets the earth with emerald green
Dresses all Creation in garments rare-
Russets and browns, lavender, and blue
Titians or whites, choose any hue?
Someone who lights up the heavens at vesper,
Calls us to ponder and pause for a while
Bids us to love and waste not the gifts
Which Nature has given for mankind to keep
