My roots are planted in this place
That's situated far away
From all the hustle of the world
Where noise and bustle are unfurled.

This quite spot where I abide
Is just a little cottage white,
Nestled deep among the trees....
The maples, oaks and evergreens.

A tiny orchard stands nearby
And grapevines trail toward the sky;
The pussy willows grow at ease
And lilacs flutter in the breeze.

Not far beyond, a streamlet flows
And it is there I oftentimes go
To see reflected in the stream
The beauty of this placid scene.

My roots are planted in this place
And for it I'd none other trade;
Here, each new season beauty brings,
Come Winter, Summer, Fall or Spring.
