"They were telling the truth, no ... it was worse than they had said to me" mutters Shoma to himself as he thinks back to what Ino had shown him and he thinks 'It was in the springtime or maybe winter, it's so far back I can't remember that part'.
"'Father why did we get rid of Kumo, Kakatatsu, Kaname and Kuremachisu?" asks a younger Shoma in front of a a building that was made of bones.
"They were not made in the image of our goddess Lady Kaguya" says his father.
"But they had much strength, we could have used that" says Shoma.
"No, they are defective" says his father.
"Then why am I here? I have a defective body as well" asks Shoma.
"Yes but, you do not meddle with what a member of the Kaguya Clan should be capable of" says the father.
"But we shouldn't be that obsessive over religion!" protests Shoma.
"Watch your tongue when speaking of Lady Kaguya, also if that's what you're saying is true and it isn't then Kuremachisu is much worse than us" says the father.
"But what of the others?" asks Shoma and then he shouts "Surely they doesn't deserve this!"
The father then proceeds to slap Shoma and says "Watch your tongue, don't say things without knowing anything!"
Shoma is shocked and shouts "You just have meaningless hate and want to kill everything around you!"
"You're right, as a part of the Kaguya Clan I like the rest of our Clan am cursed with Bloodlust but I do not have a meaningless hate of those 4" says the father.
"There's no way I'll be like you, you're the worst!" shouts Shoma.
"No, you won't, I've noticed you don't have that bloodlust in you, when it comes to you it's not about Lady Kaguya's wishes, it's about my hopes for the future of the Clan being in you" says his father.
"So that's why you told me never to fight, but it's purposeless, I'm not the future, it's Kimimaro, he's the son of Uncle and so the future leader of the clan" says Shoma.
"Maybe but I need you to be there in case something happens" says the father as he reaches to pat his son on the head.
"I don't want this life, I never did!" shouts Shoma as he slaps his father's hand away and runs into his room slamming the door behind him thinking 'All I am just a tool to further father's agenda'.
"Lord Koki, Lord Kai has summoned you" shouts a man from outside as Koki is about to knock on the door.
"Understood, tell him I'm on my way" says Koki.
"Understood" says the man as he rushes off.
Koki hurries off to meet with his brother and asks him "Why have you called me here?"
"We're planning to take over the Hidden Mist" says Kai.
"Are you insane?" shouts Koki.
"Not to worry we have my son Kimimaro to help us" says Kai.
"You put too much faith in a child" says Koki.
"Or maybe you don't put enough faith" says Kai.
"He's only a child" starts Koki.
