"I weep... But please don't cry because of me."
A lone child cuddles her toy. Brown locks curled to perfection, jeweled blue eyes filled with tears. The child sobs more, the sniffles heeded by the servants outside.
Yet they stayed quiet.
Minutes flew like a butterfly's wings. A small chirp was heard. Jennette raised her head, turning to the window.
A pure white dove sat on the window sill. Immediately, the tears came to a stop. "Eneviri!" She exclaims, "You're here already."
Jennette sat on the window seat, opening a small crack for the dove. The creature entered. "Cheep!" Eneviri chirped, rubbing Jennette's finger.
Her heart calmed down, a gentle smile arising. "Aw, are you hungry?" With her question, the dove seemed to agree.
At this, Jennette grabs a small plate with nuts and bird seeds. It was hard to sneak them in but with how Eneviri happily ate them, she was satisfied.
Jennette merely watched Eneviri finish the plate, replacing it with water afterward. "You're clean as always. I wonder, do you have an owner?" She ponders.
Eneviri seemed to freeze despite how Jennette laughed at her words. "T-tweet! Tweet, tweet!" He seemed flustered, white wings flapping around.
"Hahaha~," Jennette giggles with how Eneviri acted, rubbing the bird's head to calm down. "Alright, alright. I'm sorry for laughing. Calm down now," she asserted with a soothing tone.
They spent the remaining ten minutes conversing—though it was simply Jennette telling her woes, Eneviri listened attentively. They were nearly caught when a maid came to change the covers.
"Oh how I wish we can play outside," Jennette whispers, laying her head on the pillow. "Eneviri, can I ask again," she calls out, "Do you have an owner? With these white wings, you definitely do."
Eneviri perks his head from drinking water. "Cheep?" The dove tilts his head. Eneviri seemed to contemplate even though Jennette didn't mean it.
"Hmm... I wish Ijekiel and Arius would visit," she whispered under her breath. "I really want to meet the Princess but..." Her voice trails off, face now planted on the pillow.
Eneviri pecked Jennette continuously, trying to grab the brunette's attention. "What is it?" She inquires, voice muffled. Slowly, she elevates her head.
The bird pointed to the closed window, the sunset clear with the sky's orange hue. "Oh, do you need to leave now?" Her voice became sullen.
"Tweet..." The usual high-pitched chirp seemed sad—as though Eneviri was reluctant in leaving.
A sad smile appeared on Jennette's lips. "That's alright," she whispers, reaching to open the window, "You have an owner, right? They must be worried."
