"Truthfully, is there such a thing called Happiness?"
The ballroom was prepped to perfection. It shined as if stars existed within the room, the magnificent aroma of sweets filling the room.
The guests were Nobles of all ages. They were all dressed in respectable articles of clothing, the accessories befitting their status. They held glasses of wines in their hands, gossiping around the crowds.
One of the most famous topics was about Quitterie Chastain, but that's a story for another time.
"『Make way for his Majesty, Claude De Alger Obelia! And her Highness, Princess Athanasia De Alger Obelia!』"
With the words of the announcer, the doors were opened wide. Athanasia flinched, the glimmering lights from the ballroom piercing her vision.
All eyes went towards her, be it the normal common brown or an exotic green-all staring at her with shadows cast over them.
Claude and Athanasia stood at the top of the staircase. They were overlooking the entirety of the ballroom, the attending nobles at the bottom of the stairs.
'Gah!' Athanasia yelped inside. She hesitated in moving, her hand trembling. This caught Claude's attention. 'I-i've never stood in front of this many people before.'
"What's the matter?" Claude implored with a gentle tone. He wasn't bothered by the crowd, used to the constant banquets he visited.
Though this was the opposite for his daughter.
It was a suffocating stillness, the guest awaiting for the two Obelian Royalties to descend the stairs. 'I-i'm scared...' Athanasia tried to sneak behind her father, the man's presence being sense by everyone.
"..."
Claude realized the reason behind her shyness. He raised his head, forming a fierce glare that pierced through everyone's body.
