Chen Jiaxin's POV
I woke up with the alarm ringing on top of the bedside table. I blink my eyes as I reached for it and turned it off. It's already six in the morning and I have to help Auntie Xiuling to prepare for our breakfast.
Xiyi on the other hand is still sleeping beside me. I removed his left hand which was wrapped around my waist and gave him a kiss on his cheek. Then I head out towards the bathroom and change from my pyjamas.
It has been a month since the wedding and after a week of honeymoon in the cruise ship, we immediately return to Shanghai for Xiyi is needed in the new project of Heritage.
He helped me moved my luggages from Huaniao Island back to their house, which Grandma greatly emphasized as my home since the beginning. Grandma was very ecstatic on how things turned out and told us that she's been waiting for this day to come, of me coming home again and becoming an official member of the family.
My mom as well was very happy when Xiyi and I finally reconciled. It's just a little sad that we had to separate again but I assured her that we'll visit her often in her house here in Shanghai and helped her with the noodle shop. Looking back, Xiyi always helped her before with the shop when I was away even though my mom usually refused him.
"Jiaxin dear," I automatically stopped with my thoughts as I heard Auntie Xiuling calling my name. She's standing in front of the kitchen counter wearing an apron while slicing some carrots.
"Hi Auntie Xiuling, good morning, let me help you with that," I smiled and walk towards her.
We both walk back and forth in the kitchen as we prepare for our breakfast. When everything are almost done, Xiyi, followed by Zhengren emerges in the kitchen.
"Good morning sister-in-law! Good morning mom! Looks like we're having a feast today," Zhengren greeted.
I smiled and nodded at him.
"Ey son, help me bring this in the garden, we'll have our breakfast there, your grandma is already there waiting," Auntie Xiuling said and passed his son a bowl of carrot soup.
As the two of them disappeared in our sight, Xiyi walked towards me and gave me a peck on my lips.
"Good morning, my love," he whispered and hug my back.
"Good morning," I replied.
He stayed like that as I put a loaf bread on top of a plate.
"You going in the workshop today?" he asked.
"Hmmmm, I have to. The children are waiting for me."
"You want me to accompany you? I can tell Anson to reschedule my meeting today," he offered.
I put down the plate I'm holding and faced him.
"As much as I want you to accompany me, you can't. You have to attend the meeting today to avoid delays. That's procastination," I said and held out my hand to stroke his cheeks.
He pouted.
"Can't I?"
"You can't. Anyway, we'll have time for each other this Saturday. You're off so I'll be asking you to be my chaperone. I'll be looking for a place for our studio. Master assigned me to do that task so I can check the place personally," I explained.
"Alright, but call me if ever you've change your mind."
I nodded.
"Okay, help me bring this in the garden, I'll follow you after I make your coffee," I said and handed him the plate.
