___________________________________________________________________________________Light awoke the sleeping blonde, much to her annoyance. She wanted to move her hands, but she still felt paralyzed - also, her hands couldn’t move due to the heavy weight on her torso. Fluttering her eyes open, Lucy struggled to tilt her head. On her stomach, the salmon haired Dragon slayer slept safe and sound leaned
How did he know that I was here? Lucy wondered, struggling to keep her head up.
“N-Natsu…” she whispered. Letting out a groan in pain, she let her head fell back on her pillow, which made Natsu wake up. His eyes went wide when he saw Lucy.
“Lucy!” Natsu exclaimed, sitting up straight. His eyes looked wild and were full of worry.
“Natsu… how d-did you…” she breathed in loudly continued by a cough. “How did you find me?”
Stroking her hair, Natsu pulled his signature grin. “You know, you aren’t that good at lying,” he snickered, but shook his head. “Nah, Gramps told us.” His face grew grim, and he looked down, placing his hand on her heated forehead. “Why didn’t you tell us? We could’ve helped you!”
Lucy shook her head, her facial expression pained. “I couldn’t… I was afraid,” she admitted, looking down. “Gomen…”
First Natsu just looked at her for while. God, she felt embarrassed - and sad. And not to forget, cold. Actually she was shaking of how cold she was. Her eyes were shiny, showing that tears threatened to fall.
“Ah, don’t think about it, Luce,” he told her, grinning widely once again. Suddenly cold air hit Lucy’s body. Natsu had pulled off her blanket, holding it in his hands as he sat down on the bed. She hugged her body, trying to regain her warmth. “Scoot over… you’re gonna to catch a cold and get sick. Or sicker…”
Lucy did as he told her, making space for Natsu. Slowly her face heated up, though the rest of her body was freezing. It was probably because of the fever - that was what she convinced herself.
Natsu bumped down besides her, pulling the blanket over them. To her big surprise, he pulled her into an embrace. Suddenly her face felt so hot that she was afraid it’d melt. The heat from Natsu’s body warmed up the rest of her freezing body.
“You scared me, stupid,” Natsu muttered, not willing to let go of Lucy. As she tilted her head a little up, she didn’t believe her own eyes as the color of his hair spread in his cheeks. Natsu was… blushing? “You are weird Lucy, ya know that?”
Lucy snorted of his ‘nice’ words. “Yeah, you kinda tell me all the time…” she yawned, and only a few seconds later she fell a sleep, snuggled up against Natsu.
Weak… a voice in her head snickered.
And it wasn’t her own.

He fumbled with it between his fingers, not daring to use his last resort of daily magic power to call out his only friend. The little blue Nicola had to stay in the Spirit World for now.
