No one would believe the commotion this caused within our family unit. The screams, or shrieking more like, the tears, the deafening 'I KNEW ITS,' the suffocating hugs and punches to the shoulders, and let's not forget Scarlett running the edge of the balcony saying Stella Fitzgerald is now the only girl in the world that gets to fuck Chris Evans.

"So let me get this straight." Robert cleared his throat once more as his hand scrunched his furrowed between his fingers while his posture sunk back into his seat. "You little fucks told us off when we speculated you were dating, yet here you are, engaged for Christ's sake." He repeated our words back to us as his hands folded over one another atop the table. The actor's golden brown eyes lifting from his shoes to meet me and Chris standing idle with lopsided grins resembling that of two guilty children.

"Yes?" I confirmed with squinted eyes and a tilted head while my lips twisted into an innocent smile.

"My sweet child is getting married." Susan cooed with both hands strewn across her trembling lips as she approached my side to hug me one last time.

"Well, shit." He muttered beneath his breath. "WHERE'S THE CHAMPAGNE?" He exhaled a breathy laugh while his hands clapped in celebration as the sharp shrieks and squeals erupted one more like a flock of seagulls mimicking each other.

I felt as if I were in the midst of a movie scene, an overbearingly sweet romantic comedy to be more specific, as the chaotic shouts and commotion became dull and faded while the ultra-fine spray of champagne trickled down my skin. My eyes cut through the crowd of flailing arms like the blade of a freshly sharpened knife and bore into the sparkling blue ones already mirroring my actions. As cliche as it sounds, my surroundings faded into background noise as my line of vision honed in on the toothy smile spread across his lips. My mind engraving every intimate detail of this moment into my memory sure to pull me out of even the darkest nights. Hell, Taylor Swift's Love Story might as well be playing.

"I love you." I mouthed with my lips curled ever so slightly into a small smile as my arms mindlessly embraced Robert in complete oblivion to any action I engaged in. Meanwhile, the focus my mind usually lacks in basic life situations was utterly mesmerized on his lips whispering I love you right back.

"Stell?" Rob repeated stifling back a hardy laugh as his scanning eyes noticed my blank stare obviously focused on things of more importance; a or person for that matter. Meanwhile, my mind was anywhere but in the smothering arms of Robert. In fact, my unwavering gaze was steady on Chris whispering sweet little nothings across the crowd of smothering friends and family; and although undetectable in volume, the sense of intimacy was far more loving and tender.

"W-what?" I stammered, momentarily caught off guard, as my surroundings suddenly flooded my acute senses now registering the sound of my name being repeated. This reaction causing my disheveled blonde hair to bounce atop my shoulders as my head shook in a state of confusion as I realized I was no longer being hugged.

"My little gruff badass is in love. Oh my god, it's actually happening, it's real fucking love you guys have." Robert gushed with affection as he pulled me back into his enveloping arms feeling of pure love and endearment. "Let him love you, Stell." He tenderly whispered into my ear which sent an immediate chill down my spin while my blood now felt of bone-chilling ice. Realization struck me where I stood.

In a hot flash everything caught up with me as past memories seemed to parallel the ones happening right in front of me. This was all too familiar, the state of euphoria, the rush, the engagement, sent me into a state of sheer panic as my past was tantalizingly thrown into my face. Everything within my felt of stiff ice but my skin was crawling with stinging needles which spread like wildfire across my body. I need to he out of here. Now. I need to run. I thought to myself as my own body seemed to be detached from reality and escaping somewhere far from this scene feeling like a playback of a tragic film.

"You alright?" Chris spoke up noticing my sudden change in demeanor while his body began to maneuver through the boisterous crowd without a sliver of hesitation in his actions. As my eyes bore blankly into his worry began to sketch her work across his face, furrowing his brows and pursing his lips into a straight line while his eyes began to brim with fear. All he felt in this moment was an eery sense of emptiness creeping behind as if he were being stalked by the inescapable feeling. Chris felt as though he were about to lose everything in a matter of seconds, I just need to get to her. He thought. I need to save her... I need to save me...

But how can you save someone who doesn't know how to be saved?

You didn't really think y'all were gonna get it so easy did ya??? HAHAHA🤭🤠

Let's see how this plays out? Shall we? One more chapter to go and then the sequel shall begin shortly after! Stay tuned!

With much love,

Maddy xx
