🌼 ANGIE's POV🌼
-----•-----
I woke up early today. It's been a habit for a while. I don't think Andy would've approved of it. He would say I needed sleep. How can I sleep on the Skeld when two killers are roaming around? It was still 7:56, two hours until the others should wake up. I dressed up and headed towards the Cafeteria. Somebody else was already there. Talking to somebody. I saw Daisy in there. She had a small ponytail and she looked a little more.. happy. She was eating cereal and talking with someone. But who? It was if there was an invisible person there... Nah, she probably has an imaginary friends.

"Hey, Daisy" I greeted to her. "Can I sit here?". She looked up at me and nodded. I sat down next to her. "So, who you talking to?" I asked her. "No-one.." she replied. "Just my friend..". I raised an eyebrow at her.

I didn't notice until now that she hadn't put her hair up in a long time ever since Lemon's death. She must be in a good mood. "Have you been doing anything fun lately?" I asked her. She was silent for a bit. "I've been hanging out with Nutella and Andy more.." she told me. "Uncle Fuchsia's also nice..."

"You wanna do something fun?" I asked her. "You did say you liked books." She looked up at me nervously. She slowly nodded then returned to eating her cereal. "Great!" I smiled. "We could read while we wait for the others to wake up!"

Daisy plopped onto my bed. "So, you wanna read any of the books on my shelves?" I asked her. "I've already read them all." She got up and looked over at the books on my shelf. She then pulled out a book. "Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters"

"Have you read that one?" I asked her. She shook her head. "I only read the first book," she told me. "I never saw any of the other books in the bookstore..". "Well, we can both read it together!" I told her. "I also have the other three books and the full Heroes of Olympus series."

She nodded and smiled at me. "Are the gods bad?" she asked me. "I remember there was a musical of the first book and they were singing about how bad their parents were". "Well, maybe" I told her. "The gods are very busy with their godly stuff and yeah but...". "Why don't they just f*ck with the other gods instead of mortals?" she asked me. "I mean, they probably know how hurt those kids must feel that one of their parents aren't present at their birthdays." I nodded.

"Maybe they just think the humans are better-looking or nicer?" I suggested. Daisy raised an eyebrow at me but just nodded. She then started reading the book. I decided that maybe she should just read this book on her own silently. I took one of the Heroes of Olympus books and read beside her.

"Camp Half Blood sounds much nicer than the Skeld" Daisy said to me a few minutes later. "They might die, but they die heroes." "Are you finished reading the book?" I asked her. "I'm nearly finished" she said. "Annabeth nearly died". "That happens a lot when you're a demi-god," I told her. "It'd still be better" she said. "Even when I'm dead, I can still visit my brother in the Underworld."

She reminded me of that character. Nico, I think his name was. Parents, one dead and one too busy to be with him. Sister, dead. I wonder where Daisy's parents were and if Lemon was the only family she had left. Had

"Do you have any parents?" I asked her. Daisy looked up at me. "Dad died and Mom was in an accident" she told me. "Lemon's dead too. I'm so unlucky..". I patted her on the head, though she looked kind of uncomfortable with it. "We can be your family," I told her. "Me, Lime, Andy, Nutella, Fuchsia. We can be like your not-related family!". "Like brothers from another mother" Daisy replied.

"Exactly!" I said. "We'll be here for you! Your space family!". She smiled at me and nodded. "Thanks" she said to me. "Can I call you Aunt?". "Sure thing, kiddo" I replied. "Call me Aunt Angie or something. I'd love it." The alarm rang out through the Skeld. Start of the day.
