I walked into History class. It was the last day of school before Winter Break. Our teacher was telling us we would be starting our Greek unit. I sighed. I didn't know much about Greek mythology, although I did think it was cool.
Mr. Peyton began the lesson. My mind began to wander as we began. I was listening but I wasn't, if that makes sense. Then came the lesson review.
"What is a demigod again?" Mr. Peyton asked. He scanned the room. "Jagger?" He said calling on me. "What is a demigod?"
He had written it on the board. I thought. "A child of a Greek god or goddess and a mortal. They are half human and half god," I said confidently.
My teacher nodded. He wrote some Greek letters on the board. "Can anyone read this?" Mr. Peyton asked looking around the room.
I doubted I could read it. I have Dyslexia. I started to squirm in my chair. I also had ADHD. I looked at the letters. Suddenly they became normal letters. I raised my hand.
"It says Camp Half-Blood," I answered.
Mr. Peyton was surprised. "Jagger, I would like to see you and your friend Grover after class today," the teacher said.
When class was over, Grover and I met with Mr. Peyton. He nodded to Grover and Grover nodded back. I didn't know what was going on.
"This is a lot to take in Jagger, but you know how we learned about Greek Mythology today?" Grover asked. I nodded.
"Well you're one of those demigods. Greek mythology is real. You know how Mr. Peyton wrote Camp Half-Blood on the board in Greek? That's where we had to take you. It's a place full of demigods just like you... We should go now. Call your mom and let's hit the road." Grover explained and we headed out.
My mom arrived and drive me and Grover along in New York. We drive in silence and arrived in front of an old looking archway in a forest. My mother stopped the car.
"Thanks Jagger's mom," Grover said when she stopped the car. We got out.
"See you soon, mom," I said and closed the door. I waved and followed Grover up a hill.
We got to the top and I saw a large valley below us. There were many cabins and a campfire. There was so much to take in... My body realized that too. I fainted and began rolling down the hill.
