"What...?" Percy asked.
"How?" I wondered.
"Don't question my girlfriend," Jason said sternly.
I put my hands up in surrender.
"See those figure in the middle that look like dummies?" Piper asked.
We all nodded.
"They aren't dummies. Those are our friends, Thalia and Nico," she continued.
"So those clothes they're wearing are purposely big so it look like they aren't breathing. That's what makes them look like dummies. But they aren't," Annabeth stated.
"Step right up!" We heard a voice say. "This is a very new type of carnival game. One of needs to save both of those dummies, but how will you do that?" The man was tall.
I didn't think he was a man. I thought he was a giant, that's who had captured Thalia and Nico. I felt my drumstick/ sword tingle in my back pocket. Something definitely wasn't right.
"I'll give it a try," Percy volunteered.
He stepped onto the starting platform.
"Ready?" Asked the man, "Go!"
Percy jumped. He landed a swing, suspended above a pit of water. He swung onto a another platform.
"And but the way!" The strange guy shouted, "Once your body touches the water, you lose."
Percy leapt toward a platform. He landed just short into the water. He swam back to us.
"Sorry my friend," the guy said.
"Okay who's next?"
"Me," Jason said. He stepped up on the platform.
"Go!" The man said and Jason leapt to a lower platform. He kept jumping continuously. That was a mistake. He slipped and slid into the water. Jason came back.
"Next?" Asked the guy. He was getting more and more suspicious of something.
"Me," Piper said.
She leapt. She jumped to each platform with caution. She spent such a long time on one of the platforms, she tipped it over and fell in.
"It's okay, Pipes," Jason said.
"I'm next," Annabeth stated flatly.
She swung from the swings above. She was on one of the last swings when a spider crawled onto her hand and she lost her grip. She fell into the water. She spit water out of her mouth like a fountain. I heard her mumble something like, "I hate spiders."
Brittany and I were the last ones left. Brittany stepped up. Some how she slipped up and fell into the water. She came swimming back.
I was the last one left. Everyone looked to me with pleading eyes.
Please save them, Jagger, their eyes seemed to say.
I stepped up. The man said go. I leapt on to a swing. I took out my drumstick and tapped the tip. Nothing happened. I twirled and this time is became a sword. I cut one of the ropes holding the swing. I swing and let go. I flipped in the air, cutting one of the next ropes. I caught the seat of the swing. I was almost to the end when I missed catching the next swings rope. Quickly, I threw my sword, cutting the second rope. The swing came falling down with me. I pulled the swing under me and at the right moment, sprang from the swing onto a platform floating in the water. I leapt from platform to platform. I was determined to save Thalia and Nico. Finally, I landed on the ending platform. I ran to Thalia and Nico. I took the extra clothes off of them.
"Hey guys," I said as they both woke up to the sun, "I just saved both of your butts.
I grabbed both of them around the waist, since they were both weak, and jumped across the platforms all the way back to my friends. I set Thalia and Nico on their feet.
"Thanks, bro," Nico said.
"Thanks, hero," Thalia added. She looked like she wanted to kiss my cheek, but since she's a hunter of Artemis I guess that wasn't a good idea.
"Hey, hey!" Percy exclaimed. "Great job little hero!" He rubbed my hair.
"Great job!" Jason said slapping my back.
Annabeth and Piper congratulated me and gave each gave me a high five.
Brittany hugged me and kissed my cheek.
"You were great," she said letting go of me.
I turned to see the guy who ran the carnival game had disappeared.
At least we won, I thought, but that thought came to quickly.
