The horn blew. We ran our separate ways to our cabins. Brittany and I had the most amazing time together. My perfect dream came true. Anyway it was late so I put on my pajamas, which was no shirt and basketball shorts, and went to bed.
The next morning, I was frantically woken up by Annabeth and Brittany. They shook me awake violently. I slowly opened my eyes.
"Hey Drama Queen... Hey Annabeth! What are you doing here?" I asked sleepily.
"Oh my gods!" Brittany exclaimed. "You scared me, Music Man!"
"Drama Queen? Music Man?" Annabeth asked curiously. Suddenly she gasped. "You two are dating now?!"
I nodded and I think Brittany blushed.
"Oh gods! That's great!" Annabeth exclaimed.
"Yeah well don't be too loud about it," I said. "So why are you here again?"
"Oh well you scared us because you didn't come to breakfast," Annabeth answered.
"I was so worried, Jagger! I thought something bad happened to you!" Brittany said, breaking down.
"It's alright, Britt, I'm here," I sat up and laid her head against my bare chest. "Shhh," I said softly, " don't cry."
She whimpered then stopped.
"Okay, get dressed we have things to do today!" Brittany said. Annabeth nodded.
I groaned. I wanted to just lay in bed. Oh well I guess. The girls left the cabin and I got dressed. I put on my new Camp Half-Blood t-shirt and a pair of dark jeans along with black converse. I walked out and headed towards the the combat training area.
"Hey! Glad you decided to join us!" Percy yelled as I approached.
I nodded.
"Time to pick your special weapon, my friend. Let's go."
We walked into a shed full of swords. There were knives and daggers and bows... Oh my! I thought just to complete the song. I looked around.
"A bow, maybe?" Percy asked, "It's a favorite among Apollo children,"
I shook my head. "No, I'd rather not."
Then I saw it. It was a drum stick, the musical instrument kind. I picked it up and inspected it. I touched the tip of it and it extended into a celestial bronze blade. The bottom became a hilt wrapped in imperial gold. I moved it around a bit.
"This one," I said.
"Are you sure you want a sword?" Percy asked.
"Yeah, I'm sure. Here I'll show you how bad I am with a bow." I said.
I picked up the bow and the both of us walked outside. I took aim at an apple hanging on a tree. I fired the arrow. I hit the tree trunk.
"See! I totally fail with a bow! But with a sword or dagger... You saw how well I fought Brittany and the other girls in Capture the Flag, right?" I said.
Percy nodded and held up his hands. "Okay, okay. You win. It's just unusual. Anyway, yeah you did good in Capture the Flag."
I walked back into the weapons shed and grabbed a silver guitar pick. There was an intricate camp pegasus on it. There was also a Roman wreath around it. I put my thumb on the design. Suddenly the guitar pick expanded into a shield.
"Well I guess you're set!" Percy shouted from outside. I went outside and nodded.
"Wanna train, Percy?" I asked him, "I just want to test out my new weapons and see how strong both of us are." I beamed and he grinned.
"Okay let's do it," he answered.
He pulled out his sword named Riptide. I readied my new sword.
"Are we using shields?" I asked.
"We can use pretty much anything we can or want," Percy replied.
I readied my shield as well.
"On three," I said, "one... two...-"
"Three!" Percy yelled and charged at me.
I stood still, waiting for Percy to get close enough. I ducked under his sword and slashed the back of his right leg. He turned. I brought my sword down towards his head and he blocked it. He went to kick me in the gut when I blocked his foot with my shield. I removed my sword from on top of his and swiped my shield at Percy's stomach. He tried to dodge, but I ended up smacking his face with the very end of my shield. I charged at Percy. He was ready to slash or block my attack. He was in his fighting stance. I slid my shield toward his feet running after it. Percy jumped to dodge the shield. I slid under Percy while he was in midair. When he landed, I turned over on my stomach and stabbed his foot. Percy stumbled and I rolled away towards my shield. I hopped up and grabbed it. After thirty more minutes of slashing and lunging at each other, we were both tired and out of breath.
"Wow bro, you're really good! One of the best opponents I've had." Percy said.
"Thanks, man!" I replied.
"Come on! Let's go to the lake to clean up. I can heal your wounds." Percy said and we headed to the lake. I stuck my sword, now in drumstick form, into my back pocket. I pressed the image on my shield. Nothing happened. I pressed it again. Nothing. I threw the shield up in the air. Aha! It transformed back into a guitar pick. I walked after Percy.
We got to the lake and Percy knelt by the water. He reached his hand into the water and it seemed to spread up his arm. He grabbed my hand and my cuts healed.
I grinned and thanked Percy and walked toward my cabin. All of a sudden someone's hands came and covered my eyes.
"Guess who?" Said a sweet voice.
"Haha, hey Drama Queen," I said taking Brittany's hands off my face.
"Hey, how was training?" She asked.
"Great!" I told her.
"So... Do you mind showing me why you're Music Man?" She asked.
I took her hand and led her to my cabin. I reached under my bunk and grabbed my guitars.
"Electric or acoustic?" I held up both guitars.
"Hm... How about acoustic? I think that would be a bit more... Romantic," Brittany answered.
I put my electric guitar back and pulled out my pick. I began to strum a tune.
"Any song requests?"
"You should play... This might be sad, but you should play "When I Was Your Man" by Bruno Mars," Drama Queen requested.
I nodded and began to strum the song. I began to sing. I sang and strummed the whole song. When I finished, my girlfriend clapped.
"That was wonderful, Music Man!" She grinned.
I put the guitar under my bed.
"Watch this!" I told her. I pressed a button under my bunk. I grabbed Brittany's hand and ran outside behind the cabin. My drum set appeared. She gasped. I jumped on taking out my sword drum stick and a regular one. I started drumming an awesome beat. Drama Queen started dancing. I was jamming when I realized there was a bigger audience.
I opened my eyes to see Percy and Annabeth dancing together, Jason and Piper rocking out, and Leo, Travis, Connor, Clarisse, and surprisingly Nico jamming by themselves to the beat. I stopped. Everyone dancing stopped in their tracks.
"Jagger, that really great!" Annabeth told me.
"Bro, that was great music," Percy added.
"Thanks you guys, but I'm hungry," I said. "I'm gonna need diner to be right about..."
The dinner horn blew.
"Now!" I screamed and ran to the dining pavilion.
"No time to eat!" Chiron yelled. "I need the following demigods at the Big House immediately; Percy Jackson, Annabeth Chase, Jason Grace, Piper McLean, Jagger Jenkins, and Brittany Kennedy."
We all rushed to the Big House. When Chiron arrived, he simply stated, "Good news! It's quest time."
