Next thing Veronica knew, she was inside Axel's home, sitting on his couch in the living room as he used his iPhone to order pizza.
"Won't we be in trouble if the pizza guy realizes that we should be in school?" She asked him as he hung up.
"Nope, they usually send their only delivery guy and as long as I give him a good tip he never says a word."
"So you skip often?"
"Wouldn't you if you knew nobody cared if you even showed up, that's counting the teachers."
"I see your point, but school is or was the only place I felt at home..." she trembled thinking of today's events.
"What happened back there, you acted as if you seen a ghost. One that was trying to kill you from the looks of the bruising on your throat."
"I rather not talk about it.." She quickly said, pushing the subject away.
"You do know its better to talk about something then keep it locked up and allowing it to build and build until it bursts into all kinda of emotions." He would say walking toward her.
"I have my ways of dealing."
"And they would be?"
"Writing in my journal, listening to music, being alone, I have many ways."
"I see, guess I won't have to worry about you." He was suddenly next to her, his face close to hers.
She's noticed this and suddenly felt uncomfortable until his hand grabbed onto her chin to pull it toward his face.
"You are so different from the others, so innocent, so delicate and I can't seem to stay away." He smirked in a seductive manner.
She felt seduced and her thought process wasn't very clear, but she managed to keep from being pulled in, "others?"
"Yes, you are not like them." His lips were inches from hers.
"Other girls?"
"Mhm" he pulled her into the kiss.
She started to kiss him back, unable to even get enough of him as she held onto him, allowing him to kiss her roughly as she returned the gesture. But something felt so wrong and dark, she broke the kiss and stepped away.
"Something wrong?"
"No... Just remembered I have things to do.." She rushed toward the door.
"Really? During school hours?"
"Many things.." She said running out of his room and out the door of his house. Once she felt at a safe distance, she started to walk down the sidewalk while pulling her hood up over her head so she couldn't be recognized by anyone. Yet the streets were a bit foggy and empty with nobody in sight. It sent a chill up her spine and it made it very unnerving. Walking a little faster, she started to look to see something familiar so she could be closer to home but nothing was looking that way. It seemed more deserted and disoriented. She then felt eyes on her by a figure nearby. Looking toward the figure, her hair stood on end after seeing a shadow figure with two white circles for eyes. She began to run but stopped dead in her tracks seeing another dark figure. But instead of just staring, it held a water hose over what appeared to be black and lifeless flowers. Turning around she ran as fast as she could back the way she came only to run into something. Looking up she stared into two hollow, white eyes of another shadow figure. Her eyes rolled back into head as she fainted.
