Chapter 24: Party Crashers

Veronica couldn't believe it, her twin sister who she thought was dead all these years was standing a few feet away alive and well.
"Hello, sister!" She giggled after shrugging off the cloak to reveal a Lolita style black dress, child dress shoes with frilly knee sock and her blonde hair was down in pigtails that hung down her back. She had Veronica's face and eyes, smiling the same way she did.
"I thought you were dead..?" She was so shocked by this.
"Oh no, I'm a very good actress." She giggled.
"I saw you! I was you when he killed you!"
"Let's just say that I'm very good with my powers. I sent you a fake vision of me dying so no one would ever know I was alive."
"Your body?"
"Faked it, I played dead and when nobody was around I escaped with Axel who waited patiently the whole time."
"He killed our parents! You would go with someone like that?" Veronica frowned become angered.
"I told him to. I managed to get you to hate them so it be easier to let go of those pathetic mortals." She giggled.
She was rather childish for being sixteen. Yeah she had the body of one but the mind set of sadistic child.
"How? They did that on their own by treating you better than me! By abusing me! You had no part in that!"
"Wrong! I manipulated their minds. I told them to do all those things to you. That way you would be delayed on learning, then after corrupting Axel here when he came to help us," she hugged Axel as if he were her boyfriend. "I had him kill our parents and make sure you get placed with demons who could drain your energy as soon as you walked into that house. It took a few years to plan out but it all worked out in the end!"
"For you..." Veronica felt hurt.
"Uh yeah, I want to be Queen of course!" Victoria stared at Joshua.
"Twins I see.."
"I'm the most worthy since I have experience and training."
"She caused my delay.." Veronica was beyond hurt. Rowan walked up to her and embraced her like a father would do a child when danger was near.
"You may have the skills but you have the mindset of a child. Veronica has the heart and potential to make a fine Queen." Alistar would say looking toward Victoria.
"No! I worked hard! I surpassed my sister is so many ways!" She began to have a mini tantrum.
"Does not matter. I refuse to make the evil half of a person a leader."
"I'm my own person. Just because we're twins doesn't mean we're the same!"
"Actually, you and Veronica are one person split while in the womb. You are the evil half while Veronica is the good half. I see in your hearts, I see nothing but goodness and humanity in Veronica, I see nothing but darkness and chaos within yours. It's invidious who deserves my blessing and scythe. I have seen what has happened between the set of twins before you two and it was pure chaos. Two brothers, one good and one evil. Yet the guardians did not know. They trained together and prepared for the day of selection, but the evil twin did things much better, quicker, and surpassed his brother. But when the king before me had seen both hearts and selected the good one, who was also behind on his powers, the evil one killed his brother before crowning. It will not happen again. The King at the time ended up serving another century until the new child was born to take his place. He was a bag of bones by the time the child was able to take his place. That will not happen again.."
Veronica looked out to see the audience watched patiently. As if this was to be expected. She than look to see that both medics were out out cold or even dead with both of Star and Joel.
"So I'm to be eliminated then to prevent history from repeating its self?" Victoria giggled.
"Yes, child, I hate to but it has to be done." Alistar said in a grim tone.
"Rowan...both medics.." She pointed to where they lay.
Rowan quickly ran to that area which distracted Alistar, giving Victoria a chance to strike but Veronica moved quickly and caught the soul ripper before she could pierce his heart. Her hand began to bleed and she felt her soul being caught on the dagger.
"You stupid girl!" Victoria jerked the blade back and it ripped her arm. She screamed in pain as her arm felt like a thousands knives just stabbed and ripped it from her body.
"Veronica!" Alistar yelled as he stared at her.
"I will kill you both!" Victoria giggled.
Axel and Lily appeared, tossing an injured Rowan toward Veronica which knocked her down abs Liky snatching the huge scythe while Joshua was distracted.
"Your surrounded, my king, every guard is out of consisting, all your reapers are also out of commission, so do the right thing and everyone will live." Axel would smirk.
"I'm waiting for my crown!" Victoria demanded.
Alistar was indeed surrounded but he knew that in crowing Victoria he would be doom the kingdom and the mortal world.
"No you don't! This between me and you, Victoria!" Veronica quickly got infront of Victoria and was blocking them from Alistar.
"I'll kill him while your at it!" Axel smirked.
"Try it!" Joel appeared infront of him.
"Not much of a fight." He smirked as he tossed his chain at him but Joel allowed it to wrap around his wrist as he tugged hard enough to trip Axel. He then unwound it and tossed it near the edge.
"I'm not in the mood and I'm willing to kill you right now!"
Lily tried to make a break for it but Rowan appeared behind her, "going somewhere?" He would then stab her with his own scythe through the heart. She coughed up black blood as she saw her body starting to fade.
"Dark reapers don't go to heaven, they go to hell where they relive the very sin or nightmare over and over again. Depends on which one is the worst. Goodbye." Rowan whispered.
Lily's eyes widened at what was said but she quickly threw the scythe until she completely turned to ash. Rowan ran to catch the scythe before it fell off the balcony. He noticed that the crowd who would normally panic continued watching. But they weren't, they were frozen.
"Bring it on, dear sister!" Victoria would say as she ran at Veronica.
