Chapter 25: Ashes to Ashes, Dust to Dust

Victoria ran at Veronica but instead just running, she jumped up into a front flip and throwing the soul ripper at her. Veronica quickly dodged but rolling forward. Victoria landed and lifted her right hand, the dagger flying back into it. Veronica stood up staring at the dagger.
"Awww, no weapon? This will be too easy." She giggled as she ran and started swinging the dagger every which way in a quick manner. Veronica kept dodging knowing what will happen if touched. Victoria swiped at her ribs but Veronica moved quick enough for it to just slice her dress.
Joel was dodging and attacking Axel but he was slowing down from his injury.
"What's wrong cousin, starting to wear down just a bit?" Axel smirked as he kept swinging at Joel faster and swifter each time. He barely dodged a bit but he came back with a blow to the ribs which caused Joel to gasp and cough blood.
"What's wrong, dear cousin? Looks like I was faster." He smirked as he started to run toward Alistar. But he stopped all a sudden as blood dripped from his mouth. Looking down he saw a scythe rammed into his chest, penetrating his black heart as he looked up to see Star.
"Nobody gets away with all the pain you caused all of us! Go to hell where you belong!" She than jerked the scythe from his chest. Axel soon fell over and disappear into a pile of dust. Star rushed toward Joel who was holding his ribs and breathing hard.
"Star..your oka..okay!" He managed to smile at her.
"But your not, your so beat up!"
"I'll be fine..." He winced.
"I'm so proud of you!"
"Thank you...but Veronica will die soon if she doesn't get a weapon soon.."
Star looked up to see that Veronica was doing nothing but dodge attack after attack which was starting to tire her out.
Rowan ran past them to toss the scythe toward Veronica who caught the huge thing. Veronica looked at the scythe which was destined to be hers after the crowning.
"So scared! Yeah like you know how to use that." Victoria laughed loudly as she did a dancing twirl which sliced more of Veronica's dress which caused most of her skin to show, even eliminating one shoulder of it.
Veronica jumped back to dodge the next attack. But she suddenly felt a power surge, one that shout out of the scythe and hit Victoria and sending her back and hitting the wall of the castle. She slumped down and wiped her nose of blood. Veronica stared at the scythe and was very shocked by it.
"Alright, I'm done playing." She stood and within a blink of an eye, was right infront of Veronica. She kicked her so hard it sent her flying and landing on the ground rolling. She stopped and started to get up but Victoria was there to swing her dagger toward Veronica's neck. It was blocked by the scythe. Didn't know how but the scythe was defending on its own. She used all her strength to push Victoria back and than doing a ground back flip to distance herself to be able to stand. She breathed hard knowing that her energy level was running on low.
"Hehe, I won and you know it. I always was the strongest even in the womb. Coming out strong and you being the weak little thing needing an extra at the hospital. Mama always loved you more and I hated you for it! So I made her hate you so you could feel my loneliness! Now here we are, teenagers and fighting over who gets the kingdom, the power. I DESERVE IT SINCE I WORKED FOR IT!" She screamed like a banshee as her eyes turned as black as a blackhole.
Veronica saw her soul was hollow and full of nothing but pure darkness. Her aura soon illuminated her body and it too was pure black, making her skin even more pale and her hair turning black.
"Victoria! Please! I loved you, I always looked after you and I'm sorry that I'm the one he wants as the new Queen. I would let you have it but your soul is so so dark and black, you would destroy humans and reapers alike."
"Shut up!" Her voice has also changed.
"What happened to my twin who use to love playing in the garden while mom worked on her flowers? Who use to cuddle and snuggle with me when you had a bad dream? I don't see her anywhere."
"I'm a good actress, I told you that you moron. I pretended to get close so I could hurt you more. Ever heard keep your friends close but enemies closer? You were my enemy the day we split into two embryos." She laughed.
"So hateful...I always admired you but I see it was all fake..." Tears ran down her face.
"Such a crybaby and weakling, I'm ready to end this!" A scythe formed in her hands, pure darkness pouring off it. It's blade was jagged giving it a fang type look. The handle was as red as blood.
"No way! She summoned the Scythe of darkness! That thing will end Veronica with one swing!" Joel was freaking out. He has heard of the blade but never actually seen it since it was in the pits of hell and the only way for someone to even use it is a reaper who was as dark a hellish demon. Rowan and Star also saw and too didn't know what to do without getting kill themselves.
"You are evil in human form child, I never in my life seen so much darkness and hate. It sickens me." Alistar would say as he watched.
"Thank you, I just love compliments." She smirked as she charged for Veronica. She swung the scythe a few inches away to send a dark mass toward her. She dodged it barely but her heart rate went up as panic settled in. The scythe was evil and one hit and she would be dead. Victoria swung the scythe again and again, sendings large dark masses toward her sister. Veronica dodged and dodged until she was against the wall.
"I have you cornered. Any last words?" Victoria asked.
Veronica stayed silent while figuring up a plan.
"Silence? Works for me! Die!" She swung the scythe and sent a mass toward her. Veronica closed her eyes and expected to die painfully but nothing. She looked to see Joel infront of her, blocking the attack with his own body.
"JOEL!" She caught him as she caught him after he fell.
"Veronica... I couldn't let her kill you..." He began to turn to ash slowly.
"You shouldn't have done that..." Tears ran down her eyes as she started to cry. Star tried to run to him but Rowan stopped her.
"I couldn't let you die...you can't her destroy everything..."
"I won't! I'll kill her!"
"One more thing...I love you..."
Veronica smiled as she leaned down and kissed him gently before whispering, "I love you too..."
Joel smiled as he turned into ashes in Veronica's arms.
"All touching." Victoria giggled.
Victoria stood up and faced her sister. She was so upset and angry, all her energy surged inside her as she let out a loud and ear piercing scream. Her eyes turned white and so did her long hair. Her aura illuminated white around her body and giving her a angelic look. She squeezed the scythed she held which turned it white and the blade become huge and sharp. "I had it with your childish games, let's end this!"
