Veronica was once again on the dirty mattress but it was much colder and she was shivering. She could see her breath as she breathed. Without her consent, her arms moved to pull the sheer sheet around her to get some warmth if any.
"Have you learned your lesson?" Said a voice as she heard footsteps behind a door.
"I didn't do it! Please, mama, believe me I'm begging!" A child voice would say coming from her moving lips.
"Lies!"
"I'm not! I didn't hurt sissy!"
"LIAR!"
"No I'm not..." Tears starting to fall like rain from her eyes.
"Do you understand your sister is hurt badly and is bed ridden?"
She shook her head as she looked down giving up on defending herself.
"Don't you ignore me!" The door opened as a once sweet mother walked through looking like the devil himself with her angry glare and clenched fists came toward her.
She stood up and backed up toward the corner, "please don't hurt me mommy..."
Her mother struck her so hard she was on the cold concrete floor and a stingy was left on her cheek.
"I'm so tired of this! Your such an ungrateful child who does nothing but tells me lies!"
Suddenly anger replaced the fear as she frowned toward the ground hearing the insults.
"I just wanted one child but no I end up with one good girl and a horrible little devil for a child!" She went on, getting ready to strike again, "look at me when I'm talking!"
She went to strike, only to have her hand caught by Veronica as she grasped her wrist tightly.
"I'm not a bad girl or a demon.. Take a look in the mirror and see who the real demon is.." Veronica said to her as she looked up, her eyes were pure white.
Her mother begin to freak out, "Let go!"
"I said to walk to the mirror and look at yourself." Veronica smirked as she started to move two fingers in walking motion.
As if her fingers and words held actual power, her mother walked toward the nearby mirror which was a tiny thing and looked at herself to see an ugly hag with her mother's eyes and hair.
"Your as ugly and evil as a wicked old hag."
"No.. No..." She started grabbing her face in fear.
"You take your anger and frustration out on me, your own child, because you can't take the fact that daddy can't stand the sight of you. He despises you and has eyes for a younger and prettier woman who hasn't been ruined by the birth of twins. You resent me and my sister but you just need one to hold against daddy since we are the only things keeping him here. You drove him away and I see why. I don't see a beautiful woman who loves her children, I see a hag who hates and can't stand her children. You put on a fake face to show you care! But in reality you never wanted children! You act like you love Victoria, you act like she's the better twin but you hate her as much as you hate me and you blame me for your actions that hurt my sister! You hurt my sister!" All these words spilled out and it had Veronica baffled. Her mother teared up looking at the face she saw in the mirror.
"I cried, but you didn't care so why should I?"
"Lies... You are evil!"
Veronica became angry again, she stared at her mother until she flew into the wall. She coughed blood as she stared at Veronica walking toward her.
"Only evil and liar here is you!"
"No..." Her mother backed up.
She starts to walk toward her mother when everything goes black.
