"That's lovely".

Michael's P.O.V.

I had a hard time processing what my mother told me. It seemed like my whole family had this thing my mum called "a gift". What was it? They were werewolves. Fucking werewolves. Oh, and not just them. The genes were also on me. So, that was how I ended up in the middle of the woods, after my first transformation.

Questions were dancing on my head and I didn't know where to start. My mind was spinning. I felt like a big cube of iced water had been thrown at me.

How was I supposed to feel?

"Michael, honey." the voice of my mother was soft "I know that you might feel shocked by all this stuff, but you have to know that I didn't know it would happen so soon." she shrugged.

"What does that mean, mum?" I asked, quite confused.

"You see, the first transformation doesn't happen until you're at least 21." she looked at me serious. "I don't understand why yours occurred two years before. If I'm honest this isn't common. I only know about this girl like a hundred years ago." she paused, "Just like you, her first transformation was when she reached the age of 19." she stopped, looking at my furrowed eyebrows.

I scratched the back of my neck, nervously. "M-mum? A-are y-you a...? You know... A-" my mother interrupted me.

"Yes, darling. I'm also werewolf." she grinned.

"Oh." was all I managed to say.

To say my head was a fuss was nothing. I felt like a tornado invaded all my thoughts and the things I knew and just destroyed them. But, I didn't have a place to stay safe, so the tornado also took me. Lifting me up and making my life spin in 360 degrees.

I was a total mess.

"Anyway, I still can tell you there's this guy who lives down the street." she said enthusiastically "His name is Ashton Irwin and I'm sure he'll help you with this."

Well, that's lovely.

I was about to knock on Ashton's door when it suddenly opened, revealing a boy with blonde, curly hair and hazel eyes.

"Hey, I'm Ashton!" he smiled, showing two deep dimples on his cheeks "I guess you're Michael, right? Your mother called me a few minutes ago and told me you were coming so hi." he giggled.

"Hi." I forced out a small smile, suddenly feeling a bit overwhelmed about this Ashton guy. "Um...I guess my mum told you about what happened, right? I'm actually quite confused to explain it." I laughed nervously.

He nodded eagerly. "Oh, yeah. Karen told me everything." he smiled again. "Come in, so we can talk more comfortably." he walked backwards and I entered the huge house he lived in.
It was like my house. Bright and white and just way too big. I knew it was going to be like this since he lived in the same neighborhood I did, so it didn't surprised me much. What did surprised me, though, was him. He dressed like me. Black skinny jeans and band T-shirts. He wasn't the typical rich boy, thank God.

"By the way, I don't know if Karen told you, but I'm supposed to teach you about our history." Ashton said as he turned around and took a look at me.

I just nodded and said "Yeah. She sort of mentioned that."

"Then let's go." he pointed upstairs with his head "This is going to be a long afternoon." he smiled.

I followed him upstairs and we stopped in front of what seemed like a library.

"We have tons of books about our history." he mentioned as he opened the doors letting both of us in "I know you're still confused and shocked, but we have all been through that and I'm sort of your trainor, so I'm going to help you." he chuckled.

I laughed along. He was nice. And the place was truly beautiful. Old and full of huge books that made my heart flutter. I loved reading.

"Okay, I just have a question." I said "Why do you have so many books about it?" I asked looking the place in full awe.

"Well, it's just how we record what has happened through the years since the start."

"The start?" I turned my gaze to him.

"Yup." he nodded "Since the first time our kind appeared in Earth."

"Wait do you have every single thing that has happened since then?" I asked my voice filled with curiosity.

"Something like that." he shrugged "Though we have little information about cases like yours."

I sighed. "Yeah, my mum told me that." I approached to a book shelf and started eyeing the titles. "Is it that weird?"

"It only happens every hundred years." he said "I don't exactly know why, but I heard it has to do with a weird profecy."

I choked on my spit. "A what?"

"A profecy." he repeated. "I'll show you, it has to be somewhere in here." he gestured the room with both of his hands.

"Let's start our search then." I mumbled, still shocked from everything that happened today.

It was going to be a long afternoon, indeed.
