MASELA'S PoV
I eyed Lulu as she slept in the passenger seat. She looked so fragile,so innocent. She looked so much like  Talia physically but she was a bit sheltered. I knew if I hadn't convinced her to come with me,she wouldn't have survived even a single day in those streets. She was  so intelligent yet so naive and weak.

My men had informed me where to find her and after calling the Train station I had commanded them not to let her board the train, until I got there. When I had spotted her having that panic attack, every instinct in my body wanted to help her...to hold her and comfort her. Growing  up,Talia had experienced several of those and I had learned how to get her out of them. But Lulu's panic attack had seemed different, more intense and it was like she wasn't trying to fight it. It was like she was willingly welcoming the pain like a punishment, like she deserved it.

Without my own accord,I had found myself kneeling by my side comforting her, but she couldn't hear my words, she was too far gone.  That's when I had decided  to fetch her in my arms. She was so light, like a feather. She must have not been eating well in the last two weeks, buy that would defiantly change once she got to my house. My men had told me all about those stupid uncles of hers and their dealings. They would surely get what was coming their way. That I would ensure. They were nothing but pests, leeches and there was nothing I hated more, than a man with a greedy but cowardice heart.

After I had held Lulu in my arms at the Train Station, I had felt her fighting me,but her body slowly started to lose its fighting energy. When I had called her Gemma,I had seen all her facial features relax. She had started to calmed down as she had slowly opened her eyes staring at me with curiosity. I had known right then, that i had her right where I wanted her. As I convinced her to accept my proposal about living with me,I knew she couldn't be able to fight the pull she felt towards wanting to find out the hidden truth about her Mum's family.

Right after we had driven off she had fallen a sleep. I think she was quite exhausted. After driving for a few hours,I heard her talk in her sleep. "The blood...the white roses...the blood it's not my blood...it's not my blood." She was saying amidst soft sobs. I knew right then that she was having a nightmare about her parents death. She was sweating profusely too. After I had woken her up,she had looked disoriented and in denial but after she had insisted she didn't want to talk about it,I had decided to just drop the topic, and save it for later on.

Back at Mtitu Andei, a few minutes ago,I hadn't meant to upset her but when I had heard her laughter,I couldn't help myself, she has reminded me so much of Talia, her vibrant laugh, her smile, the small winkles on her nose as she laughed...it was all too much to take in. After my words,I has seen her mood flip as her lips formed a pout,I had noticed she does that a lot when she is upset, but I hadn't intended to upset her by talking about Talia. In the car I just wanted to hug her and hold her in my arms and comfort her,but I couldn't. I knew she needed her space so I held back, watching her as she grieved her loss. I knew she was hurting and I knew I had to take it slow with her, before  telling her about the plans I had for her.

When she fell asleep,I had carried her to the passenger seat still in shock about how light and frail she was. After she had woken up,she had handed the some snacks to me. Those snacks especially the dried chilly mangoes had been Talia's favourite snacks growing up  and it had been so long since i had tasted any of then. I was over the moon.

I knew I had to protect Lulu at all cost. She needed me. She was nothing like us,she was not born for my kind of world. She was too weak...but that would change. I would make it  my mission to ensure that when the time came, she was ready.
