After I was done taking a shower I got dressed then heard a knock on the door.
I raced to open it and Masela walked in. He was still in his work clothes, a navy blue two piece suit,a light blue shirt with a navy blue tie. He looked like he had come straight here without stopping by his room. He was holding a banquet of white roses. He gave me a hug then handed the white roses to me. I smiled at him thanking him for the roses as i walked over to pick a vase for them. For some reason,I felt really comfortable around him and it was really nice seeing a familiar face after spending the day looked in."How are you holding up Gemma?"Masela asked after we sat on the sofa next to a sleeping Fiesta. He was smiling, but his smile didn't seem to reach his face,he looked rather tired and wary."It was okay...thank you for everything Masela. I'm really grateful for all your help."I told him, meaning every single word. Without his help I don't know what I would have done,or where I would have ended up sleeping. He was indeed an Angel sent from heaven.
"It's nothing Gemma, don't worry about it. You are like a daughter to me...you are family now Gemma." He spoke softly and my eye started to well up.
He handed me his handkerchief then held me in his arms as I poured my heart out sobbing. I was really grateful that he was there for me and I felt lucky to have him there consoling me. Jane walked then stopped right in her tracks as she took in the sight in front of her...me sobbing uncontrollably in her boss's arms."I'm sorry...I...I knocked but there was no answer. I can come back later."Jane spoke as she started wheeling the tray towards the door. "Its okay Jane. We'll have dinner by the balcony." Masela spoke to her as he took my hand leading me to the bedroom balcony. I was surprised at how big it was,I hadn't checked it out during the day. It had a couple of curved seats looking out to the jacaranda trees that stood beyond the manicured grace below. The sky was ablaze with fire of evening sun as it cast long shadows on the ground.
The slanting rays of the setting sun gave a warm orange tinge to the sky.
It was still a breath taking sight, with the moon light shining on the purples flowers and the clear sky outlining the shining stars.
I had now calmed down and we were now seated on the curved seats looking at the beautiful sight. We had dinner as Masela told me about his day and also telling me more about Tori and Shiky. He told me I would get to meet them soon. I noticed that he was a really big talker and I gladly appreciated the distraction as he continued filling me in on all the trouble him and my mum got into growing up. He told me about a time in there childhood at the ranch when my mum had painted his white pet roster blue, without his knowledge. He had thought it had gone missing and they had then spend the whole day looking for it,as the blue roster followed them around all day, probably wondering why Masela didn't want to play.
He said she had laughed so hard at the end of the day as she confessed to him that the blue roster was indeed his pet roster. He had been so angry and he had ran over to report the incidence to her mother who ended up giving a beating to the two of them for ruining the pets feathered.
"She was always getting me into soon much trouble."Hr had finished, his eyes twinkling with amusement
By the time we were done with food,I was laughing so hard that my stomach was starting to hurt.
"So what do you want to do for your birthday next month right?"Masela finally asked after recovering from a fit of laughter.
"How is it that you remember the day of my birthday? You know my favourite food, you know my favourite colour,my favourite books, the skyline view...How is it that you know so much about me and you just met me?" I asked shooting him a dead pan look . It was indeed weird that he knew even some of those tiny little details considering he hadn't visited when my parents were alive and as far as I know,he hadn't kept contact with any of my parents.
