"You know, I'm starting to get the feeling Dad's avoiding us," Five jokes seriously.

Lila sighs. "Hate to be the boring one, guys, but, uh, it's time to get the hell out of here."

"When you say "we," who exactly are you referring to?" I ask angrily as I release myself from the boy's grasp, ignoring the pain.

"Not a lot of ambiguity in that sentence," she stops and faces us.

"Listen, I don't know who you are or where you came from, but whatever it is, I'd advise you return posthaste," Five spits out.

"She's right, Five. We gotta get outta here," Diego mumbles, grabbing my waist to help me stay upright as I start feeling around for a hand.

"I just saved your life, you kinder-shit. If I hadn't stepped in, all that would be left of you is a blazer and some bloody socks," Lila points out.

"And that's the problem. You're too good. You ask too many questions. You know too much. And you fight like you know what you're doing," I point out back to her.

"Sweetcheeks, got a point," Diego comments.

"So I know how to handle myself, and that makes me the bad guy?" She questions.

"Whoever you are, you're in our way," Five says pointing between him and I, "if I see you again, I will kill you," he warns her and then walks away angrily, leaving me with Diego.

Lila looks shocked as she turns to walk away. Diego keeps me back with him as we watch her.

She turns back to us, "Diego, bring her, we need to go."

"We were getting our asses handed to us back there. You helped Five, not Fiona and I. Why?"

"Because he's a kid you're adults. Bloody act like one," she answers.

Diego nods and guides me away from Lila, following Five to the car.

"Diego, I... I... We shouldn't-" Lila stutters.

"You know what? I'm used to dealing with liars, Lila, but I like it better when I know what they're lying about," Diego turns us back around again and finally leaves her.

Lila calls behind us but Diego silently leads me further and further away from her.

"No, no, no, I don't understand. They keep following me," Diego explains to Luther.

"Wait, who?" Luther asks.

"Those Dutch sociopaths," Diego answers.

"They're Swedish, you idiot," I correct.

"Hired guns paid to eradicate us before we do any more damage to this timeline," Five adds.

"Yeah, but why now? I mean, I'm... fine for three months until you two showed up," Diego sneers at Five and I.

"Yeah, I was here for a year and no one messed with me," Luther chimes in.

"Even if it was our fault, which it isn't, we only have six days before the end of the world, and the closest anyone's gotten to Dad was that driveway at the consulate," Five explains.

"Well... that's not exactly true," Luther pipes up, looking straight ahead of him.

Five, Diego, and I look at our brother and I walk closer to him, standing in between Diego and Five.

"What do you mean?" I ask.

"I saw him, sis."

Luther finishes telling us his story about the humiliating encounter with Dad back at home and I look up at Diego as I sit on his lap.
