__Dipper's POV__

I sat in my room, on my bed. It was a quiet day. Not much was going on. I was at the second book of the sets Frisk gave me. I just started reading last night and I came upon something that puzzled me. It was a certain person that sounded just like someone I knew. Same name, same personality, same physical appearance: brown hair, pale skin, red eyes...this can't be just a dumb coincidence, can it?

I need to know for sure.

I walk out of the bedroom, Mabel, who was also in our room, didn't question it, she was on her phone with Toby sleeping on her.

I wandered the halls and knocked in Chara's room, she gladly opened, she smiled as usual upon seeing me, and maybe a teeny bit flustered from yesterday, I too was blushing a bit, but I shook my head.

"What is it?" She asks me, tilting her head like a confused pigeon. God, I don't know how many people do that, it's weird but silly.

"Hey Chara, do you have some kind of identical ancestor or something?"

"No.." She says, confused, her smile faded, and gave me a questioning look.

"Because in this book, it mentions a girl named Chara that looks just like you-" I tell her. She facepalms and curses.

"Crap! I forgot!"

"Forgot...what?"

"I thought that since you and Mabel hang out with Frisk so much I thought she'd tell you. But no apparently not."

"Oh..."

"Come in, I'll explain." She invites me in. "Gosh, I hate telling this because it's such a long story, but I guess you deserve to know." She sighs as she sits down beside me on her bed.

"Long story short: that kid and I are the same person. I died at that time period and basically, I'm just a revived ghost. Before you ask, I died by choice. I ate buttercups so me and Asriel could free the monsters. But the plan didn't work. I'm some kind of tragic heroine or whatever it's called. The book will give out more details." She explains so casually, pointing to the book I still held in my hands.

Ok, this was a lot to take in. The way she made it sound like she was lying, but with the fact that monsters and humans live in peace and Weirdmaggedon was a thing, I should've dealt with it at the second she said it.

"Hey...you alright?" Chara asks, patting my shoulder. I shake from the startle and silently nod.

"Welp, you're gonna have to deal with more crazy shit the more you dive more into the book." She coolly replies. I stare down at the book I held. Its dark brown leather cover felt good to slide your fingers on. The golden words printed on it...Boy, I'm a sucker for book covers, the feeling when you touch it...the smell of old pages...That's something my classmates back in my old school would consider 'weird', but now I know that there are other people with the same interests as me, so that raises my confidence a lot these days.

As if she read my mind, Chara smiles and me starting down at the book, and says: "Are you those kinds of people who love touching the cover of books and smelling the pages?" She giggles a bit once she said so.

"Uhh...Yeah?" I tell nervously. What if she finds it dumb? What no, don't think that. Chara loves reading, doesn't she? Then she must do the same thing? Yes? yes.

"I do that too." She says, smiling softly. I sighed of relief inside my head. Thank god.

"Huh." I simply reply. We stared at each other in the eyes, silence filling the room. I stared at her ruby red eyes, they shine just like the actual crystal. I was lost in them. She stared into my eyes. My boring brown eyes. The color of boring dirt.

(Chara: AND SHIT-)

Frisk: NO.)

She still smiled while looking at my eyes.

"Why are you smiling?" I ask.

"Your eyes. I like them."

"Really? They're boring."

"Your eyes connect with the most natural of things, a tree trunk, hazelnuts, the dirt that can carry so many treasures, the dirt that brings life. Your eyes connect with nature, mine connect with magic, something unnatural, supernatural." Chara explains. "And most importantly...Your eyes remind me of CHOCOLATE!" She screams of joy. I was not expecting that. The hunger must be getting the better of her. I laugh.

"We can go get some now," I tell her. She nods excitedly, jumps off her bed, and runs at an incredible speed to the kitchen.

I, however, walked slowly.

That was very poetic of her, to describe my eyes in such a way. I kinda feel proud of it. But Chara's eyes don't just have to represent her magic. It can represent poppies, roses, rubies, cranberries, apples, cherries, etc...

It's also the color of Chara's chocolate wrapper.

Yep. I didn't expect to say so but Chary came out of the kitchen holding a dark chocolate with a red aluminum wrapper. She makes cute little noises of satisfaction as she bit into the sweet.

"I guess we both represent chocolate." I jokingly tell her. She nods to me before walking back to her room. I wandered back to mine and continued reading.
