Focus On Yourself

Lucas's POV:

I walk out of the hospital, finally discharged and energized.

"Lost control again?" my older brother, Yixing, walks over to me with a concerned face.

"I was walking Jungwoo home and we went too close to a crowded place. Way too many thoughts to handle at once." I reply, remembering the aching headache.

"Jungwoo? I thought you were with Yuqi? You know, like dating-" Yixing looks confused.

"I'm not dating anyone- I'm kinda being pressured to take Yuqi to the dance... but I like Jungwoo. I don't want to make Yuqi feel bad though. She seems like she already has a lot going on." I explain, heading to his car.

"Yukhei- you shouldn't pity-date someone. That's going to make all 3 people unhappy. Reject Yuqi like a good person."

"But what if I grow feelings for her later? What if it gets more complicated and I end up hurting Woo?" I almost tear up at the thought of my serotonin booster crying because of me.

"He's going to be hurt either way. Which way are YOU not going to be hurt. If someone is going to get hurt no matter what, you have to focus on yourself."

You have to focus on yourself.

I nod, letting him drive us back home.

"Thanks Hyung. I will."

*Next Day (at School)*

"Oh my god- Xuxi you're back at school! Are you okay? I heard you fainted yesterday! Here, take these sweets." Yuqi runs up to me, rambling as she hands me a few boxes of sweets, everyone else in the hallway judging in some sort of way.

*Oh my god she's so caring!*

*I can't wait for them to go to the dance together.*

*What a perfect girlfriend.*

'...What a suck-up.'

Wait... what?

I turn around to see Jungwoo and Ten watching the whole scene from a corner of the hallway. 

Ah... he's jealous.

That was still kind of harsh though...

I walk over to them with a bright smile on my face.

"Snoopy and Snoopy's best friend! What's up?"

Jungwoo smiles, while Ten glares.

"I have a real name, you know?" 

"Yeah yeah, okay eleven."

As soon as the shorter one looks like he's about to punch me, Johnny, the head of the Applied Music team at the school comes and back hugs him, subtly dragging him away as he claws out to jump at me.

"Let me goooooo!" 

"Never."

I turn my eyes away for the next part, back to Jungwoo, since I don't want to start my day seeing Johnny and Ten kissing in the middle of the hallway.

"I've seen it too many times... way too many times." Jungwoo sighs.

I pat his head.

"Oh my poor Snoopy. We need to get those eyes cleaned... but first, class! Let's go!" I take his hand, running to our next class with him behind me.

'If only Yuqi could see me now.' I hear from Jungwoo.

I frown at that thought. 

Is this a competition?
