Chapter 9

Leighton POV

Abbey looks at me and I say, "I think I need to change,"

"Leighton, don't let a boy make your choices," she says.

"I'm not. I want to change for myself. Not for Jack or my brother," I reply and I walk out the door and she follows me.

Soon, Abbey and I are at the hair salon and she turns to me.

"Are you sure you want to do this?" she asks and I nod.

We both walk in the door and I tell the lady that I'm changing things up. A little bit later I'm in the chair ready to become different.

"Okay miss, what are you thinking for today?" The stylist asks.

"I'd like to dye my hair.. and cut it as well," I say.

"Okay, let me get everything ready,"

"Are you ready to see yourself?" the stylist asks.

"Yeah," I say.

She spins me around the chair and I gasp. I look so different. But I like it.

"What do you think?" She asks me.

"I love it!!" I say.

My hair is a light brown and a little bit lower than my shoulders. I walk over to Abbey and she looks at me.

"Oh my god Leigh you look so different.." she says.

"You like it, right?" I ask her, worried.

"Yes Leigh it looks amazing!" she says.

"I wonder how Jack will think of it.." I start to worry.

"Leighton, he broke your heart-"

"No my brother, Abbey," I say.

"Oh yeah, well anyways lets go find out."

We show up at my house and I start to worry. But I walk in my house with Abbey. We walk in and hear yelling.

"I TRUSTED YOU JACK, AND YOU RUINED IT WITH HER," I hear my brother yell, oh no..

"I'M SORRY JACK I DON'T KNOW WHAT I WAS THINKING AND-"

"OBVIOUSLY YOU WEREN'T THINKING, IF YOU WERE WE WOULDN'T BE LIKE THIS," my brother yells back.

Abbey and I walk in the living room where the sound was coming from. She pushes me to walk in first and of course they magically notice me.

"Leigh is that you?" my brother asks me.

"Yeah.." I say and look at Jack, he was already looking at me.

"I uh, better get going," he says and leaves my house.

"Leighton, what did you do?" my brother asked.

"I changed, is that a bad thing?" I ask, he was getting on my nerves.

"Not necessarily, but why?" he asks.

"Your friend," I say, referring to Jack.

"I'm not sure if we are friends anymore," he says.

"Jack, please tell me your not going to stop being his friend just because of me?" I ask him.

"Well he hurt you, Leigh. How can I forgive him?" He asks me.

"Because you've been friends with him for a long time, okay?" I say in frustration.

I go to my room with Abbey. As we get in my room, I start to cry. Everything has gone down hill, and it's all because of me.
