"Raelynn, Nan told me you got home late yesterday. Care to explain?" Cindy asks her daughter, eating her cereal.
"Sorry, I fell asleep at a friend's." Raelynn smiles at her family, showing them that she's telling the truth.
"Mum the fridge's light is broken." Jax pipes up, sitting down at the chair beside Raelynn.
"Already? I just got it fixed." Raelynn's mother sighs, rubbing her eyes stressfully.
"Where's Em?" Raelynn asks, barely noticing the absence of her sister.
"Went off to work at Mell's." Her mum told her.
"Mell's? Did she get fired from the bowling alley?" Raelynn asks, sitting indian style on the uncomfortable wooden chair.
"No, she got a new job at Mel's. She's taking the night shift in the bowling alley." Cindy explains, silencing both of her children.
Raelynn knows that they sometimes have rent troubles, and that since her nana can't work, Emily needs to help out also.
She also knows that soon enough, she will too.
"Mum, how about you go to sleep and I'll take care of cleabing the house, yeah?" Raelynn offers, smiling at her troubled mum.
"No, no, I can't. You go and have fun with Stacey." Cindy smiles, standing up to grab all the bills on the kicthen table.
"Mum, please. You look exhausted." Raelynn frowned, helping her aging mother.
"Thank you deary, I love you." Cindy smiled, kissing her daughters cheek before walking upstairs.
"Raelynn can we do the thing." Jax's excited voice says, making Raelynn smile.
"By the thing do you mean have a dance party?" Jax nods his head repeatidly, making Raelynn smile. "Alright then."
-
"This is a modern, fairytale. No happy endings, no wind in our sails. But I can't imagine, a life without, breathless moments breaking me down, down, down, down,"
Jax was singing along, wiggling around the room, while Raelynn was singing also, and washing the dishes.
"That was Selina Gomez's; Heart Wants What It Wants. Jen, have you heard about the interview asking her about how she feels and thinks of Justin's decisions in life?"
"Yeah, yeah, and how she said she still cared. That right there is the right tthing to say. Here's Taylor Swift, Blank Space."
Groaning, Raelynn listens to the tunes of a very good but over-played song.
"Jax, babe turn that down yeah?" Raelynn asks, walking to the front door once she hears knocks.
"Michael? What are you doing here, why aren't you with Stacey?"
"I wanted to say hi. She didn't want to talk."
Raelynn laughs at his last comment, making Michael smile.
"Michael, when she says she doesn't want to talk, it means she has something so big and is so desperate to talk about it."
Michael laughs, making his eyes crinkle, while Raelynn's eyes widen at what she said.
"Oh my lord, please don't tell her I said that." Raelynn pleaded.
"Wouldn't dream about it."
"Raelynn! It's playing our song!" Jax yells from the living room, making Raelynn's eyes widen.
"C'mon Michael!" She grabs Michael's arm, pulling him with her inside the house.
"Take me to your bestfriend's house, I loved you then and I love you know,"
Michael recognized the song as Toungue Tied by Group Love, never imagining Raelynn to be into that kind of music.
"Don't leave me toungue tied, don't wave no goodbye, ooooh yeah." Raelynn sang, twirling her brother around.
The scene infront of him made Michael smile, enjoying the sound of Raelynn's singing and the giggles from Jax.
"Michael, come over here." Raelynn nodded towards where they were dancing, sticking her hand out for him.
Without hesitation, Michael takes it.
And the three dance along to the songs.
Eventually, Jax tires himself and decides to have a seat.
Raelynn tells Michael how her weekend has been, the soft music in the background playing, until Raelynn stops talking, and listens carefully to the song that's playing.
"Michael!" She sqealed, grabbing his hands.
"What?"
"This song!"
Michael listens to the strums of the guitar, making this catchy tune, until a voice starts singing, making the whole song come together.
Although Michael has never heard of this song, he instantly felt a liking towards it.
"I'm coming up only, to hold you, down for."
"Shhh and listen," Raelynn says once she sees Michael typing something in his voice app.
"And to know you is hard, we wonder. And to know you all wrong, we were."
As the song kept playing and the slow pace suddenly got quicker in a flash, Michael looked over at Raelynn and admired her.
Her eyes were closed, a small smile on her lips, the way her hair was tied up behind her head and how soft and kissable her skin was.
Michael blushes at his last thought, smiling at the possibility.
"Great song, right?" Raelynn asks once it was over, and the guy who always talks about pollution begins his 'Everyone will die of sickness and then they'll all wish they listened o me' speech.
"What's the name of it?" Michael asks, truly interested on the song.
"The Funeral by Band Of Horses, also known as, our official song."
