"Doctor, what do I do?" Gustav asked the older man sat in front of him.

"Well, all you can do is stay by her side. We can take care of the rest.." he said with a weary look in his eyes.

Gustav had found Shania at the beach. Arms between her thighs as she spoke to the open air again. It had been fine to go along with the hallucination of Natalie initially. He feared that if he said anything, she might break.

This time was different, she had never gone to such extremes before. On the wet sand, a few materials lay to the woman's right. What exactly she had planned to do? Gustav had no clue, he did not want to know.

Shania's delusions had always been present, from youth she would become convinced that SOMETHING would go wrong. Someone was near her, someone would hurt her, she was dying. The list went on, it seemed to be endless. However, no delusion had been this strong.

He stepped away from the doctor and walked towards the room where Shania was held in.

"Why are we here?"

"You're having delusions."

"I can tell when I'm having delusions. Where's Natalie?"

"That's the problem."

His head hung low, he is completely powerless. He began to make patterns as he looked down at the floor. Anything to  face the woman in front of him. After everything, California was a faux paradise.
