USE YOUR OPPONENT'S weaknesses against them. I have been watching Adrien use his abilities and I take notes. Using his Cataclysm, he can destroy anything he touches. To be quite honest, that looks to be the only power he's ever used.

I wonder if he's got any more. Maybe he's got a special power whenever he's in the form of a Cat. Black Cat is his animal form, isn't it? Yeah, it is. Marinette had to run through her thoughts before she actually paid attention to her opponent in front of her.

"Lucky Charm," Marinette raised her hand up, calling out for her weapon. "A staff!" Marinette smirked when she saw Adrien's surprised face. The staff landed on her palms, and as soon as she got it, she immediately charged forward. Keep him fighting back, that way he wouldn't get the chance to turn into a cat. She did, however, turn a little surprised when Adrien made a staff of his own appear. Does he have the same power as me or what? Is a staff his weapon?

Advancing. Advancing. Marinette charged at him with the staff upheld, going to his foreswing and following it with a backswing. Adrien dodged the first and met the second with his own staff. The weight of the thing sent her opponent's staff back, back, back. . . but not far enough to knock the staff free of his hands. Adrien pushed forward, but even though it wasn't too hard, Marinette staggered.

Adrien swung, but his staff missing as Marinette lowered herself down and dodged. Marinette managed another smirk, this time at the spryness of her dodge. Adrien had to admit it was impressive, but this time, the sight only made him more determined.

Swing. Swing. Swing. The first two missed badly, but the third, a backswing off the one before it, found flesh. The hard staff hit against Adrien as easily as air, although Adrien didn't seem to look fazed at all by the hit, like it didn't even hurt him at all.

Is he trying to hide the pain, because I'm sure that must have hurt? Well, if he is hiding it, then he's very good at doing so.

Marinette charged after Adrien again, wanting to hit him in the same place again. She was certain of her victory as she moved towards Adrien, seeing that Adrien was just standing still. When she got closer though, Adrien suddenly dropped his staff, and Marinette was able to hit her own staff against his palms. When the staff and Adrien's palms made contact, the staff abruptly started turning into a darker shade, until it disappeared from her hands, turning into ashes.

Marinette gasped. He used one of his abilities. Before she could move, Adrien grabbed onto her shoulders. His feet clasped against her hips, tugging her away ever so slightly and then easing off as soon as she resisted. A classic ju-jitsu move. Before she could protest, he had flipped her over his head and sprung upon her. Her hands were trapped behind the small of her back and her opponent's full weight lumbered over her chest, focused through his knee. She was choked for space, for breath, for moves to make.

Marinette landed on her back with a thud, and before she could get up, Adrien had transformed into a Black Cat, slamming his paw against her shoulder. He watched with a satisfied smile as Marinette froze up.

That's the first time. . . He breathed in and out, shocked with what he'd just done. That's the first time I ever used Cataclysm on an item that a human being was holding onto. I was always afraid that somehow my Cataclysm would connect to the human being as well and destroy them, but I managed to destroy Marinette's staff without ruining her.

His satisfied smile turned into a look of shame. What would have happened if even a little bit of her skin touched my hands? I'm so stupid! How could I risk her life like that?!

"It looks like we have our winner!!" Jacques walked up to the front as the audience started to cheer, Marinette's body frozen like a statue. Even though she was frozen and couldn't move at all, her brain still worked just as well. To say she was bummed about losing the fight was an understatement. But even as half of her mind was busy getting upset about losing, she couldn't help thinking about Adrien's power, which was something he'd never used before.
