The Rumor

You and Draco were doing great. You have been struggling but paying attention in class and outside of class you would go to the lake the weeping willow anywhere you could be along with each other. It was when you were heading to class. You saw everyone whispering and looking at you. Yes you were Harry's brother but everyone didn't really care anymore. Ever since the Chamber of Secrets has been opened you and Harry feared for Hermione. All the muggle-born wizards and witches were being frozen. Immediately a look of horror came across you and you realized one thing, Hermione. You were so afraid that something had happened to you. You run to the Gryffindor common room and ask if anyone has seen her. You find Harry. He rushes to you seeing the panic on your face. "Hermione is she ok everyone is whispering and looking at me and I know that mud bloods have been targeted and I remembered Hermione and I-" "Hermione is fine Y/n. It's us that they are whispering about." What did he mean us everyone was cool with us being the potter twins by now. "Harry everyone is normal around us why would they whisper about us?" his face goes serious. "Have you ever talked to a snake? Like just been able to communicate to one?" you laugh a little. "Well year can't everyone?" his face goes pale. "When and how many times?" you didn't understand what was the big deal. "Three times at the Zoo. We went on field trips to the zoo and some kid was being so rude to the snake. The kid left and I apologized to the snake and he said "thank you" and it shocked me at first because I didn't know about my parents and I went home asked my mother and she checked if I was running a fever she took me to the doctor. It happened twice after that but I never said anything because it wasn't going to be any different than last time. Harry what is all the fuss about" he ushers me to the couch. "Y/n, people think we are the heir of Salazar Slytherin and that we opened the Chamber of Secrets. We both can speak Tarseltongue. Dumbledore told me I can speak Tarseltongue because when Voldemort tried to kill me he transferred some of his powers to me. I don't know why you can speak it though. Come on we have to talk to Dumbledore." You were in shock why us just because we can talk to snakes. As we were walking you ask Harry more questions. "Why us? Why me? Just because we can talk to snakes? I thought I wasn't there the night of the attack so how did I get the power to speak Tarseltongue?" he looks at me. "I don't know we need to talk to Dumbledore." Finally you get to Dumbledore's' office. He lets you in and ask what he owed this pleasure. "Um- Professor Dumbledore, Harry isn't the only one who can speak to snakes I can too." his face turns grave. "Excuse me?" You say it again louder. "Y/n do you have a scar anywhere that your parents might've said was a birthmark or a childhood scar?" Um yes on my back I always said it looked like a bird skull but my parents said it was more of a blob. Why?" Harry still looks confused but Dumbledore's face turned paler more than before. "You are correct, you weren't there at the attack nor was the powers give by Voldemort. You might not have been well, you might not have had one of the unforgiveable curses used against you but some of the powers were given to you by Voldemort's most loyal death eater." He shows you a picture of a beautiful woman that you recognized. She had brown curly hair, a paler face brown eyes and red lips. You didn't remember her with wrinkles as its been a while since the last time you saw her. Harry's face looked angry for seeing who the person was. "Yea, she was my aunt Bella. I haven't seen her in forever. She apparently group up with my mom and so I called her aunt Bella. Why?" I didn't think Dumbledore's face could get more grave and yet it did. "Y/n dear, Your Aunt Bella's full name is Bellatrix Lestrange. She is a death eater." you were shocked. You didn't grow up with her but you loved her so much she always traveled and if you didn't become a witch you wanted to be her. "What?! That can't be right my family was friends with her they grew up with her." "People can have their memories erased and they can have memories transferred into them, lies really." "Ok but how does she play into all of this?" he brings the picture closer up. "Do you see the necklace she is wearing? Does that look like your scar on your back?" you were shocked it looked exactly like it. "Yea it does." he looks up but tries not to make eye contact. "Bellatrix gave you that scar. That's probably how you can speak Tarseltongue." Wait but how? If that was the reason why didn't anyone believe that? Dumbledore dismisses you and you go to find Draco and Harry lets you go. You find Draco sitting by a tree at the Black Lake, your guys favorite spot. You sit down and lay on his shoulder and he kisses you head. "I can speak Tarseltongue. Aunt Be- Bellatrix Lestrange pretended to be close to my family I grew up with her. She apparently did something to me and now I have some powers. Harry does too. Now everyone thinks we opened up the Chamber of Secrets." Draco pulls you up to see if you're joking. "Actually? I knew you went through a lot when you were younger but that's hard I'm sorry love." you smile at him and nuzzle back into him. "I don't even hate her. I still love her like my aunt she was so sweet to me." You fall asleep on Draco until he wakes you because it is almost dinner. You both head into The Great Hall for Dinner when everyone gives you glares and dirty looks.
