Water. Earth. Fire. Air.

Long ago, the four nations lived together in harmony. Then, everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked. Only the Avatar, master of all four elements, could stop them, but when the world needed him most, he vanished. A hundred years passed, and my brother and I discovered the new Avatar, an airbender named Aang. And although his airbending skills are great, he has a lot to learn before he's ready to save anyone. But I believe Aang can save the world.

The ship cut through the icy waters at high speeds. Y/N could see the small village on the horizon, though he couldn't make out much detail from this distance. The sky was beautiful, he noticed, as blue as the freezing water below. Y/N always thought of the strangest things before a battle. Perhaps it was a stress response, or maybe it was just his nature. It mattered little.

Y/N was putting on his armor. Zuko was next to him, doing the same thing. Zuko and Y/N differed when it came to armor choice. Zuko, maybe as a way to punish himself for his banishment and loss of rank, wore gear no different from a typical soldier. The only difference was his helmet, which had red flame detailing on it.

Y/N, on the other hand, was a sucker for style. Before he had departed from his family three years back, Y/N's father had given him a unique set of armor, a family heirloom. Y/N was the son of an important noble family, one so powerful that they were second only to the royal family itself. While the armor hadn't fit Y/N at the time, he had grown into it. He was tall and muscular and managed to fit into the armor nearly perfectly.

The armor was primarily black with silver detailings. Y/N wore it proudly, enjoying the intimidating effect it had on his enemies.

The ship continued to get closer to the village. Y/N tightened some of the straps of his armor before walking over to Zuko. A member of the crew was helping Zuko to adjust his armor, but Y/N payed him no more mind than a small nod. Zuko turned to Y/N.

Y/N: Are you ready for this? I'm sure I don't need to stress the importance of this.

Zuko: Of course I'm ready, this has been the only thing on my mind for years.

Y/N: Well, I for one am excited to see the Avatar in action. I can't imagine how powerful he must be after a century of training.

Zuko: He may have trained for a century, but he's still an old man. There's only so much he can do.

Y/N: Didn't Kiyoshi live for a few centuries? I'm pretty sure she was still pretty powerful by the age of 100.

Zuko: This Avatar is no Kiyoshi, otherwise he would have revealed himself long before now.

Y/N: Hmm. You make a good point. Still, let's keep our guard up.

Y/N walked out of the room and onto the deck of the ship. They were much closer now, maybe a few hundred feet away. Y/N could see a small wall of snow surrounding the village, adorned with small crenulations and even a tower. He chuckled slightly. A child could break through that.

The ship eventually reached its destination, ramming into the makeshift snow wall. The part of the wall that had been hit offered no resistance, and the snow tower collapsed. Y/N noticed that the villages were assembled together in the middle of the village. As soon as the ship tore down the wall, they began to panic and flee. On the crumpled sand in front of the ship, Y/N made out what looked like a boy, maybe a few years younger than him. He wore white and grey facepaint and held a club in his right hand. Y/N noticed a boomerang in his belt. 'I didn't know the water tribes used boomerags,' he thought, somewhat amused.

The ship's ramp began to descend, the hiss of steam resounding loudly through the air. It landed on the disturbed snow where the wall used to be. The men began to pour out of the ship, Y/N and Zuko foremost among them. They were not there to destroy anything, only there to capture the Avatar, but Y/N was on high alert. People from the Water Tribes were stupid barbarians, one could never tell what they might do. Zuko approached the crowd of villagers, who had managed to calm down slightly.

Zuko: [Angrily.] Where are you hiding him?

Zuko was met with no response. A scowl grew on his face and, in a fit of anger, her forcibly grabbed an old woman, who let out a whimper of fear. The villagers all gasped, clearly frightened and on edge.

Zuko: I know you're hiding him!

Suddenly, Y/N heard a loud, high-pitched yell. He turned to see its source, the painted boy from earlier, charging at Zuko, his club raised high in the air. Y/N barely had to react, the boy was far too slow. Long before the boy could reach Zuko, Y/N reached the boy. With a simple punch, Y/N staggered the boy. Y/N then grabbed him by the wrist and threw him away from Zuko. The boy landed painfully and struggled to stand up, clearly hurt. From the crowd, a young woman's voice could be heard. Y/N turned, looking for her in the crowd. When he did find her, he was surprised to see that she was quite beautiful, something he didn't expect to find in such a backwards village.

???: Sokka! Get up!

A little boy in the crowd raises his voice, yelling at the painted boy who Y/N guessed was named Sokka. The little boy threw Sokka a spear. The spear was small, barely longer than the club. It was made of wood, with a point fashioned from what appeared to be bone. Sokka grabbed the spear in the air, struggling onto one knee.

Little boy: Show no fear!

With great difficulty, Sokka managed to stand. He grimaced, pain evident on his face. He quickly began to charge at Y/N, waving his spear around with terrible form. [Resume editing here] Y/n grabs the spear and uses it to catapult Sokka into the air. Sokka hits the ground hard.

Y/n looked up to see a cloud of snow coming toward them. A bald boy was riding a penguin right at him.

Y/n tried to back away, but it was too late. The boy used his stick like a baseball bat and hit y/n right in the head. Y/n was launched backward and his vision started to fade to black.
