Touring colleges and universities was exhilarating yet terrifying. In the past week, I toured Columbia, NYU, Syracuse, Barnard, Baruch, Fordham, and St John's. They were all amazing schools but didn't feel like they were my match.

But this soccer season was everything. We were undefeated so far and we just had to keep this streak up until State.

I always told everyone that ballet helped with footwork and my stats proved that. I loved Soccer, I was just tired of the long practices but at least we got out of school four hours early today and I could nap.

When Sammy, Cole, and I walked through the door there were ten people with binders, flowers, and books with Mr. and Mrs. Fitzgerald.

"Oh shit, I forgot you guys got out early today." Mrs. Fitzgerald stood up. "We've been so busy planning the annual gala and time just slipped away."

"You're fine, Mom." Sammy assured her. "You didn't miss anything tell us more about the ball this year."

She led us over to the table and introduced us to everyone. There was a florist, caterer, people in charge of auction items, invitation coordination, decorators, the whole shebang really.

"It's going to be in California as always but instead of Beverly Hills, we decided on the hotel in Malibu that's on the beach. There's going to be an outdoor area, aerial silk dancers, everything. I think that this is the year that we get the most donations." Mr. Fiitzgerald spoke.

Every year, the Fitzgerald family put on a huge gala to raise awareness for Long QT, other heart defects, and for underprivileged baseball players in memory of Mrs. Peyton's brother who passed away unexpectedly from long qt.

Over the past twenty years, they've raised almost 50 million dollars which was amazing.

Normally, we weren't allowed to go because it was an adult event but this year we finally got an invitation and I couldn't wait.

I'd seen pictures and videos for years and it always looked so much fun and glamorous.

"Oh, I love the flower choice." I looked at the sample pieces.

"White roses are my favorite." Mrs. Peyton put in.

I looked up at her. "I'm more of a pink rose gal but white is a close second."

"Do you have soccer practice today, Aiyla?" Mr. Fitzgeraalad asked me

I nodded. "I'm probably going to go take a nap before. It starts at 3:45."

"Yeah, I'm about to go knock out some of my homework." Sammy announced. "Have fun planning."

We went upstairs into our rooms.

I changed into something more comfortable, set an alarm, and took a nap on top of my made bed. I woke up about an hour and a half later to get ready.

I stood in the bathroom brush my hair into a ponytail after I changed my clothes.

"Are you taking the subway?" Cole asked me

"Eddie is coming to pick me up." I reminded him. "You know I'm not allowed."

"I forgot." Cole reminded me.

He started to wash his face in the sink to omyy right as I brushed my hair, put on deodraant and sunscreen, and some lotion.

"I might go out with Abby Contrill this weekend." Cole said out of nowhere.

"Ok? Why are you telling me this?" I asked him

He shrugged. "Because I'm in demand."

I rolled my eyes. "You can't be serious right now."

"Why wouldn't I be?" he didn't look me in the eye and just kept looking at himself in the mirror.
