Sam and Colby hard times

Abi's POV
I finished my shift at Starbucks and headed over to my boyfriend Colbys apartment. We've known each other for 5 months now so I know his door is unlocked. I walk right in. Colby is just laying on his couch staring at the ceiling. I don't think he noticed me come in.

Hey Colby. You okay?

C- Oh. Hey abi.

His voice was a bit different. More quiet and sad than usual. He slowly gets off the couch and walks over to me. I open my arms for a hug. He wraps his arms around me not saying a word. I lean my head into his chest. His heart is beating kinda fast for some reason.

How has your day been

Colby shrugs and doesn't make eye contact with me.

Did you hang out with Sam at all?

Colby shakes his head no and walks back over to the couch. I follow him. This is unusual behavior for him usually when I come over after work colby greets me with a giant hug and kiss and immediately starts asking how my shift went and how his day was.

Are you having a rough day? I ask as I sit down next to him.

He doesn't say anything. He's just staring at the wall. Not even blinking.

Colby? Did you hear me? I asked if you were having a bad day.

C- oh. Uh- I'm fine. Just a bit tired.

I look at Colby. I don't want to pressure him into talking to me if nothing is actually wrong. He could actually be tired.

Do you just want to lay low tonight and watch a movie or something?

C- yeah. That sounds good. You can pick what we watch.

Since it seems Colby is having an off day I pick one of his favorite Netflix series. I wrap myself in a blanket and sit down next to Colby.

It's about 3:50 right now. Do you know what time you want to have dinner?

Colby shakes his head no.

Okay. We can watch a few episodes and then see if we want dinner in a bit.

Colby nods. We watch 1 episode and move on the the second one. I lean into Colby and he puts his arm around me. I look up at him. He gives me the tiniest smile. I give him a questioning look.

You sure you're okay colbs? You seem off. What's wrong.

C- nothing. As I said earlier I'm just tired.

I leave the conversation at that. I don't want to upset him more. We finish another episode but Colby doesn't seem to be watching. I look at my watch. 6:17. I sit up and look at Colby.

I'm getting kind of hungry. Do you know what you want to eat?

C- I'm not really hungry. You can go ahead and make something for yourself if you want though.
