Last night I went to bed with a stuffy nose. This morning I woke up coughing and sweating. I can't be sick today. I'm supposed to film a video with Sam in his apartment. If Sam finds out I'm sick he will reschedule and not let me film with him. He has been waiting to film this for a month now. I can't let him find out. I get out of bed and get ready to go to Sam's. My whole body aches. I look in my cabinet for aleve or Tylenol but I can't find any. I don't have time to go get some from the store before we have to film so I decided to suck it up and push through. I head over to Sam's and knock on his door. Sam opens the door and I walk in.

Sam: good morning Colby. Are you okay? You look a bit pale.
Colby: yeah I'm fine.
Sam: okay. Go take a seat on the couch. I will be there in a second. I just have to grab the tripod.
Colby: sounds good.

I go take a seat on Sam's couch. It feels good to sit down because my legs feel shaky and weak. I feel a sneeze coming. I try to hold it in so Sam doesn't hear but I can't. ACHOO! I hear Sam yell from his bedroom...

Sam: bless you
Colby: thanks.

Sam comes back in with the tripod and starts setting up the camera. He hits record and sits down next to me.
As he is doing the into for the video my head starts to hurt. I tell myself to push through. It's just 4 hours of filming. We are filming a question and answer video so that doesn't require a lot of moving around which is good for me.

Sam: okay Colby. The first question is for you. What name would you want if you weren't Colby?
Colby: um, probably Kyle.
Colby: Sam, if you could speak any language other than English what would you choose?
Sam: French or spanish

As Sam is looking through his phone for the next question I get up and tell him I'm going to grab something from my apartment real quick. I run back to my apartment to get a hoodie because I'm freezing. I put it on and head back to Sam's. I sit back down on the couch and get ready for Sam to ask me the next question.

Sam: why do you have a hoodie on?
Colby: I'm freezing right now. Why else would I have one.
Sam: dude. It's not even cold in here. It's literally 72 degrees inside and warm outside. I'm almost hot. Are you sure you're okay?
Colby: I'm fine. What's the next question.
Sam: okay. The next question is for both of us. What has been your favorite place that you have explored?
Colby: I'd have to say the bowling alley or water park.
Sam: I liked the movie theater.

As I'm looking on my phone for a question for Sam I text Jake and ask him if he could run out and get me some cough drops because my throat is killing me. He said sure.

Sam: do you have a question for me yet Colby?
Colby: sorry I was texting Jake something. I'm looking for one right now.
Colby: okay I have one. What do you think your life would be like right now if you didn't meet me?
Sam: I would probably be in college at the moment and still living at home. I would still have major anxiety about everything and not have much confidence.

My throat is killing me. I get a text from Jake saying he has the cough drops. I tell him to meet me outside in the hall. I tell Sam I needed to check on something and that I would be right back. I get up and meet Jake in the hallway.

Jake: hey dude. Here's the cough drops. You look terrible.
Colby: thanks Jake. My throat and head hurts but I'll be fine.
Jake: okay. Feel better man.

I put a cough drop in my mouth and put the rest on the counter in my apartment. I go back to Sam's and sit down on the couch. Sam has a question ready for me. I open my mouth to answer but end up coughing.

Sam: Colby, are you okay.
Colby: *cough cough* yeah. I just swallowed *cough* wrong.
Sam: I can get you some water if you want me to.
Colby: that would be great. Thank you.

Sams POV

As I'm getting water for Colby I look over at him. He has his head in his hands. I hear him cough again. Part of me has reason to believe that he doesn't feel good. When he first arrived he looked pale. I heard him sneeze and cough and he said he is cold when it's warm in here.

I turn off the faucet and bring him the glass of water. As he takes it from my hand I see that he is a bit shaky. It looks like he can't hold the glass that well.

Sam: Colby. Are you sick?
Colby: no. What makes you think that.
Sam: you look pale and keep coughing.
Colby: I told you I coughed because I swallowed wrong. I'm fine.
Sam: okay. If you say so. You ready to answer your question now?
Colby: yeah. I'm ready.

As I'm asking Colby his question I see him out of the corner of my eye stand up and take his jacket off. He puts it off to the side. When he sits back down next to me I feel heat coming from his body. He looks sweaty. He sneezes again. I get up and turn off the camera.

Colby: why did you turn off the camera. We aren't done with the video.

I walk over to Colby and put the back of my hand on his forehead.

Sam: oh god Colby. You're burning up.
Colby: okay you're right. I'm sick.

Colby starts crying. He never cries. He must really not feel good for that to happen. I pull him in to a hug. He feels very hot but he is shivering.

Sam: Colby. Why didn't you tell me you were sick.
Colby: I didn't want to disappoint you. I knew that if you found out I was sick that you would reschedule filming and you have been waiting to do this video for a while.
Sam: Colby you know that you are more important than a video. You are literally burning up right now. Sit here. I'm going to grab a thermometer and some fever reducer.

I get up from the couch and go to my bathroom to get a thermometer and some medicine for Colby. He is definitely sick. I feel bad for him. As I'm walking back to Colby I hear him sneeze again. I bend down and hand the thermometer to Colby. He puts it in his mouth. When it beeps I take it out.

Sam: god colbs you have a fever of 102.4 here's som fever reducer. Take it and let's get you back to your apartment and in your bed.
Colby: thanks Sam.
Sam: anything for you dude. If you need anything let me know and I'll be right over. Feel better.
Colby: you're the best.
