Mina sat at her desk, hidden away in the corner of the room. Looking up, she raked her eyes across the sleeping body a few steps away from her.The events that transpired the night before somehow changed things. She no longer needed to take care of herself and the Mafia, but also Chaeyoung. She could not allow what had happened before to happen again.
She still felt guilty every time Chaeyoung woke up with a nightmare or when she ran her fingers across the scars on her back.
It would take Mina a long time to assure Chaeyoung that she was safe, as she melted into her embrace, still breathing heavy.
The first time Mina saw the number of scars on Chaeyoung was the first time they made love after the event. She was shocked but controlled her emotions when she saw Chaeyoung covering her body. As though ashamed of who she was and what she could not change. Mina had internally wept at the sight, in the moment all she could do was pull Chaeyoung into her arms and slowly kiss all the scars going along her ribs and back.
Mina walked to Chaeyoung who slept peacefully on the bed. She untied her hair and removed her glasses. Setting them to the side she slid in besides Chaeyoung, wrapping her arms ever so slowly around her in a protective manner. Unconsciously, Chaeyoung exhaled a deep sigh of comfort. As though she knew she was safe in those arms.
Mina took her free hand and brushed a couple strands of hair out of the way, she gazed over Chaeyoung's features, the almond shaped eyes, to pink lips. But while moving her hair Chaeyoung twitched and moved and spun to face the other side. Now they laid in a spooning position. Mina moved forwards and pulled Chaeyoung into her. Burrowing her head into the hair running down Chaeyoung's neck taking in a whiff of her strawberry scent, Mina closed her eyes drifted off into a sound sleep.
An hour later, she awoke again to the feeling of a shifting Chaeyoung. She opened her eyes to see her stretching slightly. With a burst of love at the cuteness of her fiancé Mina kissed along Chaeyoung's neck.
"mmmH good morning baby," Chaeyoung spoke, her voice raspy in the morning as she extended her head to give Mina more access.
Mina was about the reply when there were three consistent knocks on their room's wooden door. Mina looked sat up and fixed her hair. Clearing her throat she spoke,
"Come in,"
Through the door came Bang Chan, looking dapper as always, he removed his pair of clear glasses while walking in.
"Okay so I've got everything ready. You can fly back by the end of tomorrow night. But once again... Are you sure?"
He looked concerned and stared deeply into Mina's dark brown eyes.
Mina looked back at Chaeyoung, a gleam in her eyes as she looked at the cub's confused face.
"Yes. This way, I can be a part without any trouble."
Bang Chan nodded,
"Very well. I'll take your leave then."
He left a copper brown file on Mina's desk, and left the room, closing the door on the way out.
"What was that about?"
Mina rubbed her arm against Chaeyoung's leg,
"Nothing."
Chaeyoung raised her eyebrow,
"Come one Mina, you can tell me!"
Chaeyoung moved forwards and grabbed Mina's arm she began to shake it,
"Tell me!Tell me!Tell me!Tell me!Tell me!Tell me!Tell me!Tell me!Tell me!Tell me!Tell me!Tell me!Tell me!Tell me!Tell me!Tell me!Tell me!Tell me!Tell me!Tell me!Tell me!Tell me!Tell me!"
