DATE NIGHT

It was half past six, Chaeyoung, rustled around the kitchen, a dash of flower on her cheek and a slightly dirty apron on. She was cooking one of Mina's favorite dishes. She cut up the onions to her side and took a sizable sip of her pinot noir. The sweet smell of garlic and basil wafted around the room. Just as she was about to add in the handful of chopped onions the bell rang. A giddy smile grew on her face and she made way to the front door.

"Hey good looking, you're home early." Mina spoke, she cradled Chaeyoung in her arms and gave a gentle kiss on her forehead. "What's cooking?" her nose in the air slightly. She draped her demin jacket on the cream colored couch entwined her fingers with Chaeyoung's and began to the kitchen. Her business casual clothes hugged her curves perfectly, doing nothing to keep Chaeyoung's eyes off of her. "I came home early from the clinic to prepare a little something. I'm making pasta." Mina's eyes widened and a smile erupted upon her face. Chaeyoung felt butterflies springing in her stomach. She poured wine into another glasses, untied her blond locks and removed her apron. A soft clink hung in the air as they sipped on their drinks. But after so Mina encased Chaeyoung in her arms. "You did this for me?"

Chayoung purred, they swayed side to side for a while in the silence. The only sound, the simmering of the sauce and the buzzing of the heater. Until Mina put up her own hair and began cooking as well. She mixed the pot and added a couple more ingredients. But feeling Chaeyoung's eyes staring at her she spoke, "What?"

"Nothing, you're just beautiful." Mina blushed

"You're not bad yourself."

"Mhmm" Chaeyoung kicked off the stool she sat on. Making her way to Mina she slowly removed the strings of the apron and pulled it to the side. She lowered the gas and grabbed Mina's arms, making her spin a little. "Let's dance."

Mina laughed. "To what music?" she flicked Chaeyoung's forehead lightly and moved away but before she could Chaeyoung grabbed her wrist and tugged her back.

"Who said there is no music?"

With a quick tap on her phone soft ambient music began to play. Mina raised an eyebrow. She had no idea what she was in for tonight, but whatever it was she was happy. They swayed around the room. Laughing delicately through a couple more songs until the food finished cooking and they were tired from dancing.

_________

There they sat with their warm plate of food. Under the night sky, a candle illuminating their faces, a soft breeze caressing their skin. Mina and Chaeyoung had longed for a night together. With the heavy load of patients on Chaeyoung's side and opening branches of Myoui Marriages on Mina's they had totally missed out on spending time together. But right now they had found a moment amongst their crazy lives to spend together, in peace. The sky was shimmering, the moon a few sizes larger, a warm plate of food, booze, and a beautiful woman in front. They were lucky.

"I needed this tonight." Mina spoke taking a sip of wine.

"Tell me about it. I had a seven hour surgery today, without breaks."

"Aww and you still did this!" Mina grabbed Chaeyoung's arm from across the table. Her eyes shown true love and appreciation.

"Anything for you. I know you've been working hard on making sure the new branches open up nicely."

"Yeah... Somi and I went plot hunting and we found a beautiful spot right in the main market. But there are so many problems in the building. The bathrooms are broken, parts of the ceiling are falling, its infested with rats. It's going to take at least a few months to get into shape then we can finally think about decoration and marketing."

"Hey, you have me. I can help if you need. I don't mind knocking down a few walls and fixing up some windows. Besides, you're hardworking and you have your trusty staff. It'll be done quickly."

"Thanks babe. I might take you up on that." they laughed, their voices flowing with the breeze.

_____An hour or so later_____

"The sky looks beautiful," Mina spoke, her eyes glazed over in a sheen, making them look as though they sparkle, and a gentle smile adorned her face.

Seeing her state, Chaeyoung grabed her hand. "Wanna do something crazy?"

Mina's eyes look bewildered, "Like what?" she laughed.

"Just follow me." Chaeyoung leaped out of her seat, wiping imaginary bits of food off of her face with her napkin she begins to climb up the balcony.

"Chaeyoung ahh! You'll fall! Get down." Mina positioned herself behind Chaeyoung, her arms open wide.

"Don't worry baby I've done this before."

Mina pinched the bridge of her nose.

"Why? Why have you done this before! Careful!!" She moved closer as Chaeyoung's foot slid down a little.

Giving a slight awkward laugh and coughing a bit Chaeyoung continued. She pushed herself up from the framing and reached the roof of the house.

"See, I've done it before. The stars look way better from up here."

"You're actually nuts."

"Nuts about you. Now come up."

Mina raised her arms up and grabbed the framing, from there, Chaeyoung grabbed her arms and pulled her up into her arms. Mina then stood up to see the night sky. The light pollution had cleared up and the stars shown brighter than before.

"They looks gorgeous Chaeyoung." she gasped

"Just like you." Mina gave a light slap on Chaeyoung's arm and buried her face, unwilling to show the light tint that arose on her face.

Mina and Chaeyoung stayed up that night. Talking about work, and their futures. How the night was amazing and how they couldn't wait for the years coming. They cuddled in each others embrace to cover them from the chill in deeper night brought. Their conversations stretched on until they succumbed to sleep. It was only in the early break of dawn that with the chirping of birds they awoke. To see the magnificent sunrise. In each other's arms huddling up. They wished not to leave this moment. Yet stay in it forever. They looked into each others eyes and shared a sweet kiss. Hoping to keep this memory alive and well. Forever in their minds and hearts.
