Vandalised neons

But for now let him sleep.  For in dreams we enter a world that is entirely our own. Let him swim in the deepest ocean, or glide over the highest cloud."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Some nights I had wondered,
With the dark closing in,
About the next line,
The next step,
The next life.
In the dark I had painted
A prophecy for myself,
A mural of blinding neon.
With the painting whirling in my head,
I used to finally surrender to sleep.
But you denied me
My time, my glory.
You built a barricade;
A feeble attempt
To lock the lion's cage.
A mere curtain to my colossal stage.
I will rip it apart;
Your façade, your mask,
Your sheep skin.
You may be the wolf,
But a wolf without its pack,
can only live so long.
Walk into my lair,
Oh, cunning prey.
Fear not, for I neither crave
Your flesh nor your blood.
I am but a broken heart,
With vandalized art,
Aching for revenge.
