Blooms in the dirt

Marriages are made in heaven, they said.
Both sworn to love and cherish the other.

Pure must be the girl's heart and soul.
A goddess who must shed red on the bed.

For if the blood is not shed,
The price for her head,
Was way too high for a damaged good!

And so she was tossed,
Like grot into the river,
To drown in the muddy tears pooled.

But her feet turned to roots,
Gripping the mud hard
And there she bloomed a lotus.

Curious, she looked in a round.
Ans saw lotuses till the edge of the world.

And when the wind tickled the waters,
Giggles spill from the flowers;
A ripple of sound like the dancing rain.

And now, the lotuses lay taller
In the embrace of the water,
In a world, they never drown,
Blooming till the hourglass breaks.
