So at Bible study this week, I wore mismatched socks. There were none in my drawer when I looked so I searched through the sock basket and found a couple that were both plain, but one was pink and one was blue. Right before I walked out the door I noticed that there had been a pair of matching socks on the folding table, but it was too late. I left. I really didn't think anything of it.
Right before Bible study started, my friend commented on my socks and we had fun with it, but I noticed that he was looking our way at the time.
After the study was over, he spoke to me. 'Nice socks." And of course, I said the stupidest thing ever (I can't remember whether or not I even said thanks). I said, 'They have to feel the same.' And somehow he understood!! I can hardly comprehend it even now. I was talking about how patterns on socks often have those little strings on the inside so I pick ones that will have the same pattern so that they feel the same on my feet and so that one foot isn't all pockmarked with the pattern after a long day while the other has nothing.
He replied something along the lines of, 'Some people wear different patterns, but it's kinda weird.' After that Elijah started talking to me.Pessimistically, he just thought that my choice in socks was funny. Optimistically, he is starting to feel comfortable enough to start talking to me more and is putting himself out there. Realistically, I have no clue.
