There is this game we play at youth group. We call it the couch game because the goal is to get 4 people who are on your team (usually boys vs girls) on one specific couch. There is one empty seat on another couch at the beginning. We write everyone's name down on little pieces of paper and everyone gets one whether it's their own name or not. Then the person to the right of the empty seat calls a name and whoever has that name on their piece of paper moves there. We usually switch names when we sit in a new spot, but this time around, for a shorter game, we didn't.
So last night we played this game. I call this chapter 'The Invisible Hand' because of all the random coincidences that happened that night. First off, I got his name. Second, when the seat next to me became empty, I called my cousin Bernard's name and guess who had that one? Yup. It was him. Pure accident.
Then his name was called and I moved. When the seat next to me was open again, he was on the couch, but not on my team, so I called my cousin's name again. The end of the game was soon after. He offered to put my paper away and I let him.
Pessimistically, it was weird of me to call his name twice and it was way too awkward for him. Optimistically, maybe he will get some sort of picture that I like him without being weirded out. Realistically, I have no clue.
