P.o.v. Shikamaru

"Ahem."

Oh god, not again-

"Kiba, Naruto."

Please don't. Oh god this is such a drag-

Choji's aura has completely changed. He appears to tower over everyone in the room, even Neji looks shocked.

Wearing a face of rage unlike any other I've seen, I can tell Choji's about to unleash his assault on the other two idiots. I take a small step back, hating what's about to happen, but not wanting to get in his way.

Neji sends me a look, but I just shake my head.

Lovely, I sigh to myself. I wonder how embarrassing it might be this time.

A few years back, this same situation happened with a group of older kids at the Academy. I never wanted to repeat it again. The memory makes me shudder.

Both the blonde and the short haired brunette turn to face Choji. Kiba raises his eyebrow, scoffing a "What," while Naruto looks genuinely scared.

Choji seems to notice the vibe I'm giving off, and calms himself down. Closing his eyes and crossing his arms, he asks, "Are you proud of yourselves?"

Despite thinking Kiba will respond with a snarky comment, he stays silent. All he does is eyeball him with a blank expression.

"You should be ashamed of what you've caused here, the both of you." Choji meets both of their eyes one at a time, then closes them again.

"I-" Naruto begins, but is cut off.

"I don't care what you did to me, but you apologize two Neji and Shikamaru. Right now."

"Choji, stop. I'm okay, Naruto and I settled things already," I tell him, setting my hand on his shoulder. Naruto looks relieved.

"I will not be taking any apologies from either of you. I don't need it, nor will I hear it. You should be grateful you even had an opportunity to capture me. If any of you ever speak a word of this, I won't hesitate to silence you." Neji declares. He then scoffs and walks over to the couch, rubbing his wrist with a disgusted expression.

Choji turns his head to me. "Shikamaru, you know this isn't okay. Don't tell me it is." As he starts his next sentence, his voice begins to raise. "What about your fear of darkness? Don't tell me you got over it, I heard your scream!" He aggressively shakes off my shoulder.

Nice job Choji, now everyone knows I'm a wimp.

"I said let it go." I say angrily, my voice barely a whisper. I look down at my feet, smouldering like a volcanic rock.

"Fear of... The dark..?" Kiba asks.

"I would like an explanation." Neji's words are technically a question, but it comes off as more of a demand.

Tick.

"Oh would all of you shut up? Your whining is such a drag, honestly." I snap at everyone. No one expected such a thing from me, and all heads turn, eyes filled with slight shock.

I sigh. "Naruto. Tell them the story, would you?" Them meaning Neji and Kiba, seeing as Choji already knew.

Naruto retells my childhood trauma story, earning me a confused glance from Neji, and an apology from the Inuzuka.

I shrug off anything they have to say, making it obvious I wanted to move on and change the subject.

Naruto, coming to my rescue, makes a proposal.

"Why don't we take care of sleeping arrangements?"
