🧸 ( chapter eight )
"TWO ROADS DIVERGED in a wood, and I—I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference." Topanga finished reading the poem The Road Not Taken, putting her bookmark on the page before closing the book.
"Okay. Now, what do we take from this poem?" Mr. Turner asked the girl, but was interrupted before even starting by a loud snore from the back of the class. Valentina looked to her right side, realizing that the snoring was coming from Shawn who was asleep. How could've she not noticed he was asleep before?
"Yiip—Yip—Yip—Yip—Yip." The girl scoffed at the sounds Cory let out of his mouth. Shawn snored again, her then realizing that Mr. Feeny was next to him with his arms in front of his stomach. "Yiip—Yip—Yip—Yip—Yip." Shawn snored again. "Yiip—Yip—Yip—Yip—Yip."
"Interesting. In my class, Mr. Hunter handles the yipping." Cory woke up and noticed Mr. Turner in front of him, then turned around to see Mr. Feeny, then went back to Mr. Turner.
"Shawn!" The boy hit the table behind him with his elbow, trying to wake up his best friend who soon did. "Shawn, it's both of them,"
"Oh, no. Now I don't know which class I slept through." He smiled at Mr. Feeny and then Valentina.
"Good morning, Shawn."
"Allen."
"I'm not doin' anything!"
"Mine, Hunter. Remember, The Road Not Taken?" The teacher motioned to the blackboard with his arm where the name of the poem was written.
"A remarkable poem in which the poet tells us that we make choices in life, and each choice puts us on a new road that can have a profound effect on our destinies." Mr. Feeny explained without addressing anyone in particular.
"How does a poem about a guy on two roads have anything to do with our lives when we can't even drive yet?" Shawn asked before seeing his two teachers, making Valentina place her index finger near his lips.
