To think we're the only animals with complex thoughts. But when you think about it our thoughts really aren't that massive, we all think the same things. Am I good enough, pretty, smart and funny enough. Do I stand in with the crowd or stand out so physically I'm revolting, past social standards in either direction. First impressions come from our looks.
'We're all our unique selves' but we focus on how people perceive us. How will they look at me, what will they assume, will they like or hate me. What if I'm in the way. Maybe if I change this or do this, be like this... people go every which way tall, long, skinny, smaller, short, wide, fuller, bigger, etc. But if we're the creatures with abstract thinking why do we base things off what's on the outside, not what's on the inside. Pushing ourselves to stand out to find that uniqueness that will still be acceptable. That never is to oneself
I don't feel unique I feel the need to hide in baggy clothing, eat a certain way. Sometimes not at all but most of the time way to much as result of the pressure. In the end we aren't living up to the values we've instilled into ourself not of the public eye.
Unique and normal are the same, they don't have one standard or definition they are just laws/regulations of empty meaning and words spat on a pedestal. That people go their whole lives chasing but never achieving, you needn't have to climb so hard. Just knock it down and stand on top of it as you not what you think you need to be.
