HARRY'S POV:
I lay on my back, and sit in the backyard, Carson laying on the grass next to me. Sterling isn't here, she said she was spending time with her dad today. She's all I can think about though. All day, and everyday now. No matter if she's here or not I'm thinking about her, or what she's doing, or what she could be doing.
"Stop thinking about her dude.." I hear Carson, and I shake my head, and reach my hand next to me, grabbing the same red ball I throw around in my room. I toss it up in the air, and catch it, continuing to do the same thing over and over again. The grass is comforting, but itchy all at the same time, and the sky is a pretty glowy blue, fun clouds shaping themselves in the air above me.
"You don't think about Hallie like that? She doesn't run around your mind all the time?" I ask him, genuinely wondering. I imagine the soft blonde, and Carson sitting next to her, and how well they work together.
"I mean I think about her, I do... Just not like you seem to think about Sterling. It's like everytime I look at you you're somewhere else, and I just know you're with her in your head." He tells me.
"You say it like it's a bad thing." I shake it off, throwing the ball in the air.
"It's not a bad thing. You're in love with her dude." He tells me, and I sit up immediately, turning to him.
"No.. No I'm not in love with her.. I'm falling in love with her, there's a difference." I fight back, and Carson sits up now.
"Yes there is a difference. When you're falling in love you might feel butterflies, or get excited when that person walks into a room. When you're in love it's like.. Well it's like you're always on alert. You don't just get excited when they walk in the room, you search for them in every single room you walk in even if you know they won't be there. They consume your every thought, and you want to spend every second you can with them, or talking about them. I'm falling in love with Hallie.. You're in love with Sterling, that's just it." He tells me, and I look down at my hands.
"Hm." I speak out, and truly think about this. Loving someone isn't dating them for fun. Loving someone is wanting to do anything and everything for them... and I think... No, I know that I'd do just about anything and everything with Sterling.. She's probably the most understanding person I've ever met. She doesn't yell. She's kind. She's.. She's caring, and loving. Honestly.. I can't see myself going through this next year of school without her. She's smart enough to hold her own... I can't really think about what it'd be like going to university without her either... Would I choose my future school based on her decision? I think... I think I would.
"What?" Carson asks.
"I'm in love with Sterling King..." I mumble the words, and Carson leans forward.
"Pardon?" He asks.
"I'm in love with... I.. I'm in love with Sterling King.." I speak louder, and then it hits me. "I'm in love with Sterling King!" I stand up as quickly as I can, facing Carson. "I'm in love with Sterling King!" I speak louder, and grab his arms. He stands up with me, more so from my pulling than his own doing.
"You're in love with Sterling!" He cheers with me as I jump up and down, keeping hold of his arms. "Yay!" He over exaggerates his excitement. "So what are you going to do about it?" He speaks in the same excited tone, and it hits me. I keep jumping up and down, and continue to smile as I speak just as loud as I had been before
