STERLING'S POV// FINAL CHAPTER:
I was the first one to pack my things. From an outside point of view when you look at my bedroom you'd think it looks normal... Clean for a teenagers room but decently normal. When I look at it it doesn't look normal at all though. It looks incredibly barren, and odd, and unlike me. It looks sad. I sit on my bed, and close my laptop, looking around me at the multiple bags and suitcases in the corner of my room, ready to be on a plane within the next day.. Today is it. I have one day left until I move across the country. Harry and I are going together but either way. I'll be leaving my home, where I grew up.. Where I really became Sterling King..
My furniture is still here. I'll be living in student housing. Student apartments for now, and I think Harry is in the same building as well. My dad is aware of that and has already told me the rules I have to follow... But I won't be following them, and I think deep down he knows that. Anne on the other hand incredibly let down that we wouldn't let her pay the first few months of rent on a shared apartment. Neither of us want that, we want our own jobs, our own ways of living and as of right now, we're getting our housing paid for. So we did decline, Harry more adamantly than me but still.
I'll be gone tomorrow. I'll be leaving all the adventures I've had. All the bucket list items, all of my old home, and friends too. I'll be leaving everything including a piece of my heart. A piece of my heart will always stay here with my dad, with Lee, and with Oregon. So I stare at my room. Once an organized mess of star charts, and zodiac books. Paintings on the wall, purple bed sheets, and bucket lists, and clothes. It's now bare, and nothing but a shell because it's all in suitcases ready for a long flight.
My dad is out for the day, but he'll be home tonight and so will I. Anne, and Gemma, and Robin are coming over here to have dinner with my dad and Harry and I one last time before we leave. Ms. Homes is going to come too which makes my heart swell. I'm happy he's got someone. I'm happy he won't be lonely without me, or Lee. I'm happy he has Anne and Robin as friends too. Right now I'm just happy. But right now I have one last thing to do before I go so I leave my bedroom, and I walk down the stairs, giving Jon extra love before I walk out the front door and across the yard.
"Hello!" I shout as I walk through the front door, knowing I'm welcome anytime in this home now. Gemma pops her head around the corner and runs towards me.
"Hey sister." She smiles, looping her arm around my neck. "Are you ready?" She asks, and I sigh.
"Yes and no." I admit, and she nods her head.
"I know the feeling... I'm just happy you won't be feeling it alone you know?" She asks, and I nod. I am incredibly thankful that I'll have Harry with me. I'm thankful because even though it's only been a little over a year of knowing him he still feels like home to me. He's one of my roots that leads me back home.. Wherever I go he brings me home. I am lucky to have that.
"I'm happy I won't be alone either... I'm ready to start fresh though.. Meet new people, see new skies, and classrooms and places.." I tell her, and step on the first step. She stays on the ground below me, and slaps my butt.
"Well get your ass upstairs, and help him finish packing." She nods her head, and I laugh. I figured he still wasn't finished, but he's going to have to finish later. The door is cracked and I push it open right away. His eyes shift towards me as he sits himself on top of a dark blue hard shell suitcase. He pays me hardly any attention, turning it all back towards the suitcase under him. I walk further into his room, and place my hands on his shoulders.
