Both sides constantly thinking of the other.
Like Yin and Yang.
Sun and Moon.
Sometimes, it use to bug me.
Now this same situation is starting to affect me in some way.
I don't even know why.
I stare out to the open window, seeing people walking with each other in the streets, happy and at peace. Not sure why, but my voice started to let out a sigh. My mind started to recall the moments I had with Kai. His complexion, his voice, and even himself.
"Kai..." was the words which escaped from my lips.
Him?
A villain?
Out of all things?
Why?
"My dad was looking for Kai this whole time and I never realized it? But he can't be a villain, right?"
I looked into the hero network site just to find out some information about him. According to what I discovered, he's known as the leader of a yakuza organization known as Shie Hassaikai. It was originally the criminal underworld organization who worked for deals as gangsters, not villains. However, the previous boss suddenly disappeared and Kai became the next leader of the organization. After hours of reading and investigating, I could only realize one thing: He truly was a criminal.
"But...why? Why would he lie to me?"
As tears started to well up inside, my mind wandered towards that day.
Where we met.
Our conversations.
Everything.
Did he know? I asked curiously.
Realizing how embarrassed I was at the time, I smothered myself with a pillow as I screamed as loudly as possible.
I'm such an idiot! I sadly mumbled. He knew who I was without even telling me! I must've acted stupid around him.
Though it was painful to realize my embarrassing situation out there, one thing did bother me: if he was a villain, why didn't he attack me? I glanced back at the reports and his picture then back to the raven keychain.
If he truly was a villain, then he could've attacked and killed me right on sight, right? I thought, then why? Why didn't he?
Each reasonable answer I could think of couldn't appear in front of me. All there was in my mind were theories.
Was it because he was using me for his own benefits?
Was it because he was making fun of me?
Or...
Was it genuine?
Was he falling for someone like me?
Me.
An enemy.
That's impossible.
We're from two different worlds.
I, a hero, and him, a villain.
Our goals are different.
Our paths are different.
Nothing would connect to each other.
Even if we could work things out, it's not like any of us are going to change for the other. It's like we're use to our world.
As my mind wandered, a certain knock at the door caught my attention.
"Who is it?" I asked hesitantly.
"It's me," a familiar voice called out from the other side. "And I brought something for you."
I knew right then and there who it was. My best friend, Mirio.
No matter how bad Sir Nighteye was towards me, Mirio was always able to provide such comfort with little trinkets, gifts, or sometimes treats.
"You can come in." I replied
As the door opened, sure enough, Mirio stood there with a basket full of goodies. However, he was not alone. The person who stood beside him was a boy with green-like hair similar to Sir Nighteye minus the yellow highlights. He had freckles covering his cheeks and his face was full of hope.
"Sorry if we came in unannounced, but we brought you a little peace offering."
"Aww, aren't you sweet, Mirio? And, um, who's the boy standing right next to you? I don't think I've seen him around before, Mirio."
"Oh, right, sorry. This is Izuku Midoryia. He's training to be the #1 Hero. I'm just letting him meet Sir and see if he can intern with me this semester."
"Really?"
Right as I turned to look at him, Izuku Midoryia was star strucked and shocked. Unsure of why he was staring, I started to introduce myself to him. Unfortunately, he started to shake my hand first.
"You're the Winged Angel Pro Hero, H/N!" geeked Izuku Midoriya.
"Oh? You've heard of me?" I inquired.
"Of course! You've been voted as the top ten cutest pro hero in the billboard charts for five straight years! Even your powerful strength is nothing compared to any of the pro hero's standards in Japan, apart from All Might of course! While you're famous in the Pro Hero Agency World, your past is like a mystery! I was wondering if I-"
"Whoa, slow down there buddy. She's not the reason why we came here, remember?" calmed Mirio.
"Right, sorry."
"No, it's okay. It's not everyday I meet a student from UA that has the same potential of being a hero and admire others in the process."
Hearing a praise from me, Midoriya started to blush lightly.
"Uh...thanks."
"No problem. Anyways, why are you really here, Mirio? The gifts wouldn't be the main reason of your visit, right?"
"Well, I came here to tell you something, from Sir himself."
Hearing his name after that fight we had the other day, he at least wanted to tell me something.
Not from himself, mind you, but from his successor.
Typical.
"What is it?"
"You're not going to like it though, so don't get mad, okay?"
"Scouts honor, Mirio!"
"Okay. Here's what it is."
*****
"Crash!" went the door to Sir Nighteye's office.
"Sir Nighteye!" I stated in frustration.
He glanced right back towards me as I glared right back towards him.
"I have words I would like to say to you. If you are going to give me an assignment, then let me know about it myself, not by any other individual. Got it??"
"Noted." he answered. "I assume Mirio had told you of the assignment for you."
"He did. However, you do have one minor problem."
"And that is?"
"I refuse this assignment."
"This is not up for debate. You are not going to be apart of the Shie Hassaikai assignment."
"And why not?!"
"For one, you have connections with Overhaul and putting you through the line will get you killed."
"Just because I met him once, doesn't mean that I'll kill myself for him."
"Too risky for you to be apart of that assignment. Besides, we have reason to believe that the League of Villains are joining forces with the Shie Hassaikai with a secret weapon."
"And you think that I can't help you guys because I'll be killed? That's real cute from you, dad."
"Either way, you will be assigned with smaller hero tasks and have an escort with you at all times."
"But... but Dad-!"
"No buts about it, young lady. Now, return to your home and wait until I send an escort to your home sometime today. Dismissed."
Frustrated, I flew towards my home, leaving Sir Nighteye in his office in such distraught.
"I have to do this. For your sake, daughter."
