Few weeks passed, Chronostasis simply just kept watch near an abandoned alleyway across Y/N's home and guarding the location. While he would've selected any of Overhaul's henchmen, he took over to ensure things wouldn't go south. Besides, since their conversation that night, he wanted to see it for himself. One day, as he glanced towards her window from a distance, Chronostasis sighed in such disbelief.

"What's so great about this one?" he asked himself. "She's just like every other hero in this society: caring only about themselves and getting all the glory. She's nothing too special."

He then recalled what Overhaul had said to him that night.

"If you understood a bit of a person instead of concluding your decisions, you would agree with what I saw from that person."

He sighed, knowing well Overhaul wouldn't say anything like that without reason.

"But if he believes she's different, then I'll do my best to keep her safe, even if it cost me my life. Just for you, Overhaul."

He then noticed how frustrated I was from a distance. Thinking it was a strategy for the next mission, it was actually me pondering over why my father wouldn't let me be on the Shie Hassakai assignments. No matter how hard I try to prove my worth, he still turned me down and not accepting me to join.

"I don't get it! What's the point of having me on smaller missions when I can't be there with my dad to save the people that I-"

I stopped midsentence.
Why couldn't I finish that sentence?
Was it because of Kai?

If the mission is to stop Kai from taking over the world, would I fight against or defend him?

Was that the reason my father won't let me go?

I mean, yes, that is a possibility.

I would stop the villains from their plan to take over the world, but at the same time, I would go against the one friend I made on my own outside of Mirio. And if I fight alongside him, I would be considered a villain than a hero.

As these thoughts started to cloud my mind, a knock caught me off guard again.

"That must be Bubble Girl." I assumed as I walked towards the door.

Meanwhile, in a opposite side of town, Mirio and Midoriya were just doing some scouting around the perimeter for any small time villains lurking around.

"Wow, H/N really is different than the media pictures her to be."
"I know exactly what you mean." Mirio said with a smile. "She's really something else."
"Correct me if I'm wrong, Mirio, but weren't you and H/N friends when you were interning with Sir?"
"Well, not exactly, she was once a UA student during my first year."
"Wait. She studied at UA?!"
"Yep. Her and I cross paths every so often during my first year, but it's always in her hero form. Once, I asked her why she never shows her actual form, she always dodges the question, like it was too personal for her to talk about it. I had to prove my worth in a one in one battle once."

Midoriya stood there frozen as Mirio continued to chat. Once he realized Midoriya was shaking in fear, Mirio placed his hand on his shoulder.

"Don't worry, she won't do that to you."
"You sure? I mean, I barely know her that much and she-"
"I guess I surprised her with you by me, that's all."

Midoriya sighed in relief.

"Say, since you haven't had the chance to talk with her last time, do you want to come with me after patrol?"
"Really?"
"Sure. I'm sure she wouldn't mind just answering a few from you. Just keep it simple, okay?"
"Um... okay."

Midoriya chuckled for a moment until he bumped into someone in front of him.

"Oh sorry about-"

He stopped.
Unable to finish his sentence.

From what he was looking at, the person of whom he bumped into started to turn around to look at the two boys right there.

"So, we meet again, heroes."

Midoriya stood there in shock while Mirio prepared to engage in battle.

"Overhaul, what on earth are you doing here?"
"What? Am I not allowed to roam the streets as a class citizen anymore?"
"Not after that stunt you've done with, H/N!"
"Oh? So that's her hero name? I never expected to get that from you, Lemillion."

Mirio growled in frustration as Overhaul chuckled lightly. He then turned his attention to the one who bumped into him.

"And you must be the new hero in training, am I right? I haven't quite seen you out here."

Midoriya stood silent. He wasn't sure how to answer in front of a member of the Shie Hassaikai, let alone the leader of one. Mirio stood right in front of Midoriya, like he was protecting him.

"Why are you here?"
"Don't worry. I'm not here to settle the score with you, Lemillion. If I did, then H/N would not be very pleased. Wouldn't you agree?"
"You know, H/N?" Midoriya asked hesitantly.

Overhaul glanced towards him.

"Of course I do. Her and I are closer than you think. Lemillion wouldn't even comprehend the chemistry we had for each other."
"Enough of your lies, Chisaki! Why are you here?! Tell us now!"
"So demanding. Very well. I'm only here to give you a warning: about H/N's safety."
"What about her safety?"
"It's better to discuss this more privately for details. Here."

With one flick, he tosses Midoriya a phone card.

"Take this. Call this through a pay phone and I'll provide you a location and time. When you get to there, let my men know I sent you. They'll let you through."

He starts to walk away as Mirio calls out to him.

"Why are you doing this? We're meant as enemies."
"I know that. We'll still fight as one, but for now, this is for her sake. No one else's."

He stepped a couple of feet until he turned to look again.

"One last thing, don't bring any police officers or pro heroes with you. Just you two alone. We wouldn't want them to interfere. Have fun with your internship."

And just like that, he was gone.
Out of sight.

"Um... Mirio, what the heck was that?"
"I don't know, but we need to inform Sir about this right away."
