Joshua
As I walked down the halls they smelled of linen and bleach. I didn't really have any idea of where I was going until a lady in nurse scrubs came up to me.
"Are you Joshua Hall?" She said with a smile that I could tell was forced. Probably because I smelled like bourbon.
" Uh yeah."
"Okay, follow me." Another fake smile.
She walked extremely fast for someone so short. I had to be a couple inches taller than her. "Here you are, room 159. I'll come check on you a bit later." And with that she left.I stood in front of the door for a moment or two, hesitating to go in, when I heard the click of a door opening behind me. I turned around and looked around until I saw her. She was just standing there looking at me. She had big green eyes and strawberry blonde hair. God, she's pretty. Stop it Josh, she can probably hear your thoughts or some shit. She gave me a closed mouth smile and retreated back into her room. With that I turned around and opened the door to my room. I put my duffle on the warn green leather recliner and sat on the bed.
At about 5:00 I went to the cafeteria, because man I was starving. I was going to get a hamburger, but when I saw them I decided against it. I walked back out into a hallway where I saw a vending machine earlier. I placed in my dollar to get a KitKat and typed in the code underneath it. I waited for it to drop to the bottom, but the bloody machine wouldn't budge. "Shit, come on!" I hit the machine with my hand and was about to hit it a second when a cold, pale hand with light green painted finger nails grabbed my arm.
I turned to see who it was and it was that girl. She honestly was even prettier up close.
"Um..." I said looking down noticing she still had her hand on her arm.
"Oh, sorry" she said as her face started going pink. "Um, here just type in the number backwards." She went and type in the numbers and the machine started to work. She reached down and handed the chocolate to me. I tried to ignore how her hands sent shivers down my spine as they lightly touched.
"Uh, thanks."
"No problem. You're lucky I was here or you might've broken the glass."
" No I wouldn't have." I said it quite harshly but I hate it when people accused me of stuff.
"Well you were hitting the machine pretty hard."
"Stop telling me what you thought I was doing. I wasn't going to break the machine. Bloody hell do you thrive off of being a useless know-it-all."
The look on her face on her face told me I had gone too far and before I could apologize, she was gone.
