Olivia
I rushed back to my room unsure if I should be angry, embarrassed, or sad. You are not going to cry over that boy Olivia. You don't even know him, he has no right to make you upset. As I told myself that, the tears started to pool in my eyes. I sat on the edge of my bed and let the tears fall. How did a boy a I didn't know at all have so much control over my damn emotions. I decided to get ahold of myself and call the one person I knew could make me feel better.
Ring, ring, ri-
"Hello, this is Penelope speaking."
I laughed "Wait who are you again"
"Oh I'm only the crying girl on the other lines best friend."
Shit, she noticed
"Earth to Olivia, Yoo-hoo-"
"I'm still here Penny"
"Well then why can I hear you crying still, doesn't just the sound of my voice brighten your day just a tab bit?"
"There's this boy and h-"
" I'll be right over Liv""I'm here!" Penelope exclaimed as she barged in the room. Penny was tall with black curly hair and thick black glasses. She came in carrying her emergency bag, which could only mean one thing, chocolate and rom-coms.
About an hour and a half later we were teary eyed from The Notebook and into our second bag of chocolate when there was a knock at my door.
Joshua
I hear the shuffling of footsteps and then the door opened. Once I saw her my heart dropped. She had been crying. My dad always said to me making a woman cry was one of the worst feelings in the world and now I knew what he meant.
"Um...I'm sorry" I said, to embarrassed to even look at her.
"Oh, um, it's ok-"
"No it's not okay!" Yelled a girl.
I didn't see her until she grabbed the collar of my grey shirt and pushed me up against the wall. I smirked once I saw she was wearing fleece pajama bottoms with rainbows and unicorns all over them.
"Is something funny you prat?" With that she pushed me harder into the wall. I was certain if she pushed me any harder against the wall my shoulder blades would have broke.
"Penny let him go, please."
"Olivia was he the boy that made you cry?"
Her name's Olivia.
"No, no he wasn't, just let him go."
She let go of my collar and said "If I find out you made me best friend cry, I will kill you." She snarled at me and went back into the room and shut the door.
"I'm sorry about her." Olivia said. I noticed her tapping each of her fingers to her thumb. Hmm, I do that when I'm nervous. "What were you saying again?" She asked.
"Uh, come with me." She looked at me with one eyebrow raised. "What?"
"Well first of all I have no bloody idea who you are, I mean you could totally be a psycho axe murdered."
I chuckled and said, "Well I'm Josh Hall, 17, and definitely not a psycho axe murder."
"You saying you're not psycho axe murder makes it all the more convincing," She giggled. "Okay, I'll come with you."
"And I promise not to kill you with my axe."Olivia
"Welcome to my, now, second home." Josh said.
"Where's all your stuff?"
"I haven't really unpacked anything yet."
"Oh."
"Do you seriously unpack everything as soon as you get here?"
"Yeah, I do." I said.
"Oh."
"Yeah."
"Hey, is that Pride and Prejudice?" PAP has been my favourite book since I was 12 and I never took Josh as the type to read it.
"Uh yeah, it's my favorite book." Surprising.
"Mine too."
"Really?"
"Yeah. Uh...can you read it to me?" Oh bloody hell, you did not just say that!
"Huh?"
"Can you read it to me?"
"Yeah, just let me get my pajamas on." I plopped into the green recliner and shivered.
"Blankets?" I asked.
"Third cabinet to the right."
"Okay."Joshua
Once I came out of the bathroom I found Olivia curled up in a ball with at least three blankets on top of her.
"You must be really cold." I said with a smirk.
"No shit Sherlock." She laughed. Something about her laugh made me feel good and bad at the same time. It was pure and happy but I could also tell she'd been through some stuff.
"Are you ready for me to start?"
"Yep." She said softly.
"'If you will thank me,' he replied, 'let it be for yourself alone. That the wish of giving happiness to you might add force to the other inducements which led me on, I shall not attempt to deny. But your family owe me nothing. Much as I respect them I thought only of you.'"
As I looked up from the book I saw that Olivia had fallen asleep. I decided not to wake her and soon enough sleep took over me as well.Olivia
"Open up this door right now you prat!" Penny?
"Joshua please open the door!" Nancy?!? Okay what the hell is going on? Then I saw him. He was still sound asleep and I did have to admit he looked beautiful like that. Though I quickly got those thoughts out of my brain and went to open the door.
"LIV!!" Penny exclaimed as she wrapped her arms around my neck.
"Penny...can't...breathe."
"Oops sorry." She said and released her arms from around my neck. "Are you okay, did that bloody prat hurt you?"
"No, Pen he didn't." I chuckled. She grabbed my arms and started looking at them and then pulled my hair back and examined my neck. "Uh, Penelope what are you doing?"
"Checking for hickeys."
"Okay, that's it." I said putting my hair back on my shoulders.
"I think we should get you back to bed Olivia, and you," She said pointing at Penny, "need to go. You know no visitors allowed past 12:00 and right now it 1:45."
"Okay fine I'll leave, but I'm coming back tomorrow."
With that me and Penny hugged goodbye and she went to go get her stuff.
"You ready to go back to your room?" Nancy said.
"Yeah, I just need to get my stuff."
"Okay, I'll see you in the morning. Sleep tight love."
Nancy closed the door and left. I didn't actually have anything to get but wanted to say goodbye to Joshua. I decided not to and gave him a kiss on the cheek hoping he wouldn't notice.Joshua
Once I heard the door close I opened my eyes and touched my right cheek. She kissed me.Author's Note~
OMG I kind of love the ending of this chapter. It was over 1000 words so I am quite happy with myself. Do you guys like Penny?? The girl above is what I think she'd look like. Let me know in the comments. ILY all!! X
