Olivia
Today was Christmas Eve. I had gotten released for Berkshire about a week ago, but Josh hadn't. I didn't want to go home either so I decided to stay a tab bit longer. Since Josh was already 18 he could check himself out without parental consent. Once the paperwork was done and bags were packed we said goodbye to Nancy and got in my car.
"What's the address again?" I knew exactly what the address was but there was an uncomfortable silence that overtook the car.
"It's 147 Boughton Road in Whitwick." He was looking down and picking at the skin around his cuticles. He usually bounced his leg or tap his fingers to his thumbs, but there were also other nervous tics that he tried to hide. Sometimes it was hard to tell if Josh was nervous. In the three months I've known him, he always seemed to be hiding something. Like there was something under the surface that I just couldn't reach yet.I pulled into the houses drive. I was quite nervous to meet Josh's family, mainly his parents. I mean we weren't really dating or anything. We got out of the car and walked up to the house.
"Don't be nervous, they'll love you." With that he grabbed my hand and rang the doorbell. His parents swung open the door. His mum was on the shorter side, she had straight brown hair and brown eyes. She had on a big smile, that immediately made me feel safe and happy. Her name was Charlotte and her husbands name was Oliver. Josh's dad was taller than his mum, but Josh still towered over both of them. His dad also had brown hair but had the same blue eyes as Josh. Before we could even say hello, Josh's mum gave me a big bear hug, which was similar to Josh's hugs.
"You must be Olivia! Josh has told us so much about you! Oh, come in, come in!" She beamed. We went inside, Josh's hand still wrapped around mine. I saw two kids playing Monopoly. There was one girl and one boy, they looked exactly like Josh.
"That's Poppy and Andrew. They're twins." Josh said pointing over at his little siblings. Poppy looked over at me and then whispered to her twin. Andrew looked at me with his mouth wide open and said,
"Damn Josh,I know you said she was hot but I didn't think you meant that hot!" My face immediately went red and Josh scowled at his little brother.
"ANDREW!!" His Dad's voice soared "What have I told you about saying those words! Please apologize."
"Sorry." He mumbled. Poppy was containing her giggles in her hands and Josh was trying his hardest not to laugh, but failed.Soon enough Josh's mum called and told us it was time to eat. The food was delicious. Josh's parents made turkey, roasted potatoes, herb stuffing, pigs in a blanket, Yorkshire pudding and a Spiced Victoria Sponge Cake. I honestly don't think I've ever eaten so much food on my entire life. Everything was delicious and the atmosphere in the house was so pleasant. Charlotte and Oliver made me feel like I was apart of there family in matter of hours. After dinner Charlotte showed me the guest room where I'd be staying, it was very warm and cozy and I knew I'd sleep good that night. After she left I threw on my pajamas and climbed into bed, I was thinking of watching Netflix on my computer but I was way too tired. I closed my eyes and soon fell asleep.
I woke up later that night to the sound of footsteps thinking it was just Josh's parents putting out presents, but then I heard my door open. "Liv, are you up?" I heard Josh whisper shout. I turned around to see Josh standing in doorway. I motioned for him to come in and he climbed into the bed next to me wrapping his arms around me. We didn't say anything to each other and soon enough I was asleep again.
An alarm work me up the next morning. I checked my phone and the alarm said "go to the kitchen." I pressed out of the alarm only to see that it was 5:30 in the morning. I turned around to see that Josh was no longer in the bed next to me. After a minute or two I got up and headed into the kitchen. Once I got into the kitchen I saw a scrap of lined paper on the center island. It said "go into the living room and unwrap the green present with the whit bow." I had no idea what this was all about, but I knew exactly who was behind it. The green present was the first one I saw and I started to unwrap it. There was a box inside with a note on top.
Olivia,
I guess I decided to write this out because I'd be too scared to ask you in person. I think I'll just go ahead and ask what I've wanted to for 3 months now. Will you be my girlfriend? Bloody hell that's cringy. I hope you like your gift and, of course, answer yes to my question.
Merry Christmas Liv
-JoshI opened the black box and inside was a gold necklace and jade stone in the middle. There was also a tiny gold butterfly with silver glitter on top of the stone. The necklace was beautiful and I put it on right away. I turned around with a big smile on my face only to be scared half to death when seeing Josh sitting on the couch behind me. "Bloody hell, were you trying to give me a heart attack!"
"Of course not. If you died I would never get the answer to my question." He said sarcastically. Even in the dark I knew he had that stupid grin on his face. I walked up and sat on the couch next to him. I took his face in my hands and kissed him. "Yes." I said. This time he kissed me, I opened my mouth so his tongue could enter and he did the same for me. I came up on his lap and straddled his waist, his traveling up and under my shirt. We continued kissing until we heard an "ew, gross!" coming for the end of the staircase. I quickly got off of Josh and looked down at my feet.
"M-merry Christmas guy's." The tension in the room was so thick you could cut it with a knife and no one said anything, until the twins just left without saying a word.Christmas at Josh's house was amazing. It was so much different from the Christmas's at my house, there was just so much love and happiness in the air. I was surprised when Charlotte and Oliver said the last three presents were for me. I expected them to be makeup or hair stuff that I wouldn't even use, but they actually got me the newest edition of Pride and Prejudice, a pack of multicolored bobby-pins, and bag of sour patch kids. I thanked and hugged them both, even though I've only known Josh's parents for a day, they became the closet thing I've had to parental figures in a long time.
The rest of the day was spent laughing and eating. After dinner Josh and so told his parents that we were now dating, Josh's mom hugged me so hard it felt like she was cutting off my circulation but it was nice at the same time. I spent the night at Josh's house since the day after tomorrow he had to go back to Berkshire and he wanted us to have our first official date as a couple before he had to go back. I slept in Josh's room that night which was way better than the guest room. I was excited to know what we were doing tomorrow since Josh wouldn't tell me, but I guess I'd just have to wait until tomorrow to find out.Author's Note~
I really, really like this chapter and I hope you guys do too!! It took me pretty much all day and I think from now on I'll try to update the book at least once a day!! Hope you all have had an amazing day! X
Ps. The necklace about is the one Josh got Liv for Christmas!
