WHO AM I TO JUDGE?

CHAPTER 4

"I'm starving." she said as we walked under the hot blazing sun.

"Sorry, but we consumed everything in the food supplies." I replied.

"We're gonna die here." She said as her tears fell straight down to her chin.

"We still have small amount of water here, drink this I'll find something to eat." I said as I placed our bags in the ground.

"Look! There's an intact apartment! Let's go there maybe we can find some food that we can eat." I suggested.

We grabbed all the bags and slowly walked towards an old apartment. Surprisingly, all of the buildings beside it were all crushed like legos but the old apartment building remained intact despite the strong earthquake. With the intensity of  about 9.6 magnitude, how can an old withered apartment withstand the great earthquake.

"The damages in the apartment walls and floors are not really that significant, this apartment is a legend." Meldy said as she glanced her vision everywhere.

"How may I help you?."

By our surprise, we found an old woman, about 60+ years of age, smiling right in front of our faces.

"Sorry for the inconvenience ma'am, actually we were walking in the streets for many days now and our food supplies are now gone." I said to the old woman.

"You don't have to give me the full details, I know you guys are starving come inside my room I'll cook some food for you." The kind old woman said as she invited us over to eat.

"Thank you very much ma'am for your kindness and we're sorry as well for going inside the building without permission." I said as I thank the old woman.

"Young fellows like you should not be walking in the streets, It's hell outside and you might get killed." The old woman said.

Carefully, we settled our bags in the floor, removed our jackets and shoes and carefully placed them in the side.

"Sit down, both of you." The old woman said.

Then we sat down in a nice cozy sofa. As we sat down to relax, I can't help but to observe the surrounding. Some parts of the room were old, the corner ceiling had molds, the walls had stain in it, and the room kinda smells. Despite the condition, we can't really complain because even both of us hasn't washed our body since day 1.

"Excuse me ma'am, do you have running water? If there is, can we use some to wash ourselves?." I politely asked.

"Yes my dear, but there's no hot water, I'll just boil some hot water for you." She kindly replied.

"Thank you again ma'am." I replied.

Then we settled ourselves then went to the shelves.

"You go on first, I will wash myself after you." I said.

"We can't waste water for the old lady,  it might better if we go in together." She said.

"Go in together? Are you out of your mind?." I replied.

"There's really no time for that one, we are in a crisis." She said to me while removing her uniform.

"Fine, just look the other way and I'll look the other way okay." I said to her.

Then we went to the bath together,  buck naked. She faced the other side of the bathroom while I faced the other way. While showering, the power went out and it scared both of us.

"Oh godddd!." Meldy screamed by surprise.

It was pitch black, I can't see anything because there were no windows nor ventilation in the bathroom. Then suddenly, I touched something soft and slimy.

"The hell is this?." I said.

I'm not sure of what I am holding that time but I realize that I am in a big trouble. Then in a minute, a foot went straight to my balls, as expected.

"Oh my god! the pain is circulating from my balls to my brainnn! Why'd you do that?!." I asked while holding my balls and screaming in pain.

"Well it's your fault for touching me!." Meldy replied.

"Damn it, I can't even see you! Even I am not sure of what I did."

Then after a minute of suffering, the power went back, and it exposed something that I wouldn't forget for the rest of life. It's a bad timing for both of us, but hey It wasn't really that bad.

"Holy cow."

Then Meldy screamed.

"Look the other way dumb dumb!." she screamed.

"Ok ok sorry, god." I replied.

Then I faced the other side. It was awkward, but at the same time hot. What I saw that time was truly a blessing and I doubt it will fade away in my memory forever.

After washing, the old woman invited us to the table. She took the hot pot of meat stew and served us portions of meat.

"Don't be shy, pls eat." The old woman said as she handed us the bread.

Then we sat down and ate.

"You know, me and my husband when he was alive used to shower together." The old woman said while sipping some soup.

"Uhm, It wasn't like that ma'am." Meldy replied.

"Oh no no no, you don't have to explain what's goin on in bath earlier, I completely understand. You see, when my husband was still alive, we would go to the bath together and you know do something funny." She added.

"I remember the time where he undressed me and carried me to the bath because he want to take a bath together, he was such a sweetie." The old woman said.

We were speechless. I didn't even wanted to say something about what happened, but I'm pretty sure she misunderstood what happened earlier that day.
