Defence
Skylar awoke the next day in a familiar room. One that was similar to hers but bigger. In front of her laid Draco on his velvet sage couch. The room was filled with a deep orange flooding the room. It was dawn. Skylar let out a stretch and a yawn, then proceeded to walk towards Draco's desk and sat down, looking out of the window.
"Good morning." He said. His voice was raspy and rough- and that was enough for her to feel butterflies in her stomach.
"Good morning to you too." She replied, getting up and joining him on the couch.
"Did you sleep okay?" She questioned. He nodded in reply and stifled a yawn. He got up, stretched, grabbed his green towel that was hanging near his wardrobe and walked into his shower. Skylar made her way back to her room quietly, hoping that Caylin was asleep. And luckily, she was. Skylar grabbed her towel and made her way to the shower.
After her bath, she found Caylin wide awake, stretching and yawning.
"Good morning sleepyhead! Hurry up and get ready!"
Caylin rubbed her eyes and made her way to the bathroom groggily while Skylar sat down by her desk to apply some makeup. The brunette clipped her hair into a half ponytail with two strands hanging loose. She curled her eyelashes, applied mascara and drew a little winged eyeliner. She applied some lip tint and she was ready to go. She packed all of her things into her handy leather satchel and by then, Caylin was ready too. So, the two girls walked to breakfast with their robes in hand.
Breakfast was the same as usual. Blaise snogging Naomi, Crabbe and Goyle laughing with their mouths full, Caylin and Skylar joking around and Pansy, Millecent and Daphne gossiping. The only thing that bothered Skylar then was that Draco hadn't even show up for breakfast- even though he had gotten up early and had a shower around the same time that she did. Sighing, Skylar got up with the lot of them and they made their way to Defence Against The Dark Arts.
When they reached the class, Professor Snape was getting his things ready. He told his students to get into pairs and be ready for the lesson. Pansy partnered Caylin, Millecent with Daphne, Crabbe with Goyle and Blaise with a boy name Theodore, meaning that Skyalr was alone. So, she sat alone, waiting for the lesson to start.
Soon enough, the lesson began and the students were instructed to practice using nonverbal spells on our partners. Malfoy came barging in, but never received a scolding from Snape. Instead, Snape gave him a warning before instructing him to practice with Skylar.
"What now." He said, his eyes never meeting hers.
"Just practice nonverbal spells."
He nodded and pointed his wand at her. And in the blink of an eye, Skylar's wand flew out of her hand and into his. She huffed and grabbed her wand back from his cold hands before attempting to 'expelliarmus' him back. He blocked it and Skylar's wand flew into his hands once again.
"You're going to have to try harder Skylar."
She rolled her eyes and wrenched it out of his hands.
The rest of that lesson went by rather slowly. Draco was practicing his spells alone while Skylar sat by the side watching him and only pretended to practice when Professor Snape was close. Just as the lesson was ending, Granger reminded Professor Snape about their essays that were due. The whole class groaned at her but handed up their essays nonetheless. Draco tossed Skylar her essay, they handed it up, and walked to the great hall for lunch with the rest of the group waking ahead of them.
Once they reached the Great Hall, the table erupted with discussions about the Slytherin quidditch team. The try outs were going to be carried out later that day.
